Professional Practice Assistant Professor in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Utah State University invites applications for a Professional Practice Assistant Professor faculty position in chemistry, with an estimated start date of August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate teaching excellence, contribute to research and service activities, and complement existing department programs.
Responsibilities:

* Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, including inorganic chemistry lecture and laboratory, with possible opportunities for teaching in other areas based on expertise. * Develop an effective research program, which could include collaborations with existing faculty on publications, grants, mentoring students, or writing proposals. * Service to the department, university, and broader scientific community.
Qualifications:

* Minimum Qualifications:

+ PhD in chemistry or a closely related discipline

+ Experience/training in areas of inorganic chemistry

+ Experience in teaching chemistry

+ Excellent spoken and written communication skills

+ Ability to contribute to research (through publications, mentored students, proposals, etc. ), either independently or in collaboration with existing faculty. + Effective track record of publishing in top scientific journals

* Preferred Qualifications:

+ Postdoctoral and/or faculty/industry experience in inorganic chemistry

+ Dedication to and track record of excellent teaching

+ Research interests that complement department research

+ Demonstrated skills in teaching undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses
