Overview:
The Office of Research Support (ORS) is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate and graduate students to fill two Research Support Student Assistant Specialist positions. As a Research Support Student Assistant Specialist, you will assist in various aspects of grant administration and compliance, as well as research contract administration. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable business administration experience in the world of research contract and grant administration.
Responsibilities:
* Set up new awards and grants in Workday
* Aid in administering and tracking grants and contracts using several software platforms
* Monitor ORS email and help triage requests to appropriate ORS staff
* Assist in various grant and contracting related activities
* Work alongside ORS staff to support faculty and student researchers
Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student
* Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Capability to analyze and summarize extensive information
* Strong independent work skills and high level of self-motivation
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Previous grants or contracts experience is a plus
Benefits:
* Paid hourly at $20 per hour
* Dedicated approximately 8-10 hours per week for 14 weeks each semester
* Work mode: Hybrid (primarily remote with occasional on-campus presence required)
