Overview:
We seek a faculty member with a passion for addressing the problem of laminitis in horses through research to join the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) as an Associate Research Professor of Biomedical Sciences in Laminitis Research. This is a 12-month non-tenure-track appointment with a 90% research and 10% academic service, teaching, or clinical service allocation.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct basic or applied research related to laminitis in horses
* Contribute to the design of the new research center and preparation of annual reports and MSU CVM publications
* Collaborate with colleagues in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences and clinicians in the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine
* Provide clinical service in the Large Animal Hospital of the Animal Health Center (optional)
Qualifications:
* PhD degree required
* DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree from a recognized college of veterinary medicine preferred
* Applicants with specialty board certification encouraged to apply
* Experience and credentials necessary for appointment as a research-track Associate Research Professor
* Ability to perform high-quality research and publish results
