TILE KILN OPERATOR FULL-TIME

Florim USA is looking for Tile Kiln Operators for DAY & NIGHT SHIFT Positions in the Clarksville, TN area. $18.70/hr (days) $20.70/hr (nights)

REQUIREMENTS OF TILE KILN OPERATOR

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF TILE KILN OPERATOR

Tile Kiln Operator loads and unloads the platforms, maintaining kiln integrity and tile quality by performing the following duties.

  • Operates the Tecno Ferrari loaders when loading the platforms and the NuovaFima when unloading the kiln,

  • Perform all required tests ensuring that all equipment is operating properly, and filling out daily reports.

  • Insure that tile gap on conveyor line and exit table are set correctly.

  • Assist in removing, cleaning, and replacing rollers, repack insulation, and assist in other tasks as they are assigned

  • Check all guides and replace as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations, complete all safety training, and wear required safety equipment per related safety SOP'S.

Beginning pay $18.70/hr

Night Shift Differential $2.00/hr

Shift Schedule 2-2-3

Assist the Kiln Operator to control the kiln process through standard operating procedures utilizing instrument readings, laboratory test results and physical observations to safely produce a quality product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operate computer-controlled systems for kiln operation with a full understanding of the process, equipment, and associated controls & instrumentation
* Perform product sampling and laboratory testing to maintain quality control
* Maintain shift records of operational, environmental, and safety data
* Primary goals of Assistant Kiln Operator:
* Strict adherence to all safety & environmental rules
* Proper operation & maintenance of equipment
* Stable process operation with consistent product quality

* Perform routine equipment inspection, lubrication, & minor maintenance
* Perform routine clean-up of assigned areas
* Assist maintenance personnel as required
* Tolerate intermittent exposure to temperature extremes, dust, noise, and vibration
* Position includes a lot of walking, climbing of stairs and ladders
* Work in adverse outdoor weather conditions
* Assist in loading trucks, rail cars, stone, & coal as required

QUALIFICATIONS

* High school diploma and 2 years of industrial experience
* The ability to communicate fluently to convey, exchange, and understand questions, ideas and instructions in both verbal and written form
* Possess good math skills including four basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurement
* Possess computer skills sufficient to work with JDE, Winlims, Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn and understand PLC's (programmable logic controllers)
* Able to access and work in ALL areas of plant which include heights up to 125' above ground level, and confined spaces
* Lifting, carrying, pushing or moving of 50 pounds minimum
* Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, and respond accordingly
* Knowledge of lubrication and service requirements of machinery
* Ability to safely operate or learn to operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, track mobile and forklift
* Ability to work as part of a team and work independently
* Ability to fill in for other shifts; potentially nights or weekends as necessary
* Ability and willingness to be cross-trained in other job functions
