We are currently seeking a Laborer for our Norman, Oklahoma location. This position will be responsible for aiding and assisting lineman for aerial construction.
Essential job duties include:
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
- Operates mini excavator, pot holing machine, and other equipment.
- Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Pull in conduit Fiber optic cable and copper cable.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
- Operate commercial motor vehicle hauling equipment.
- Enforces company and customer safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Supports, complies with, and participates in HSE Program.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid CDL class A driver's license.

Job Description
We are looking for a paralegal focused primarily on employment and labor law. NREL specializes in renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development. NREL is a government-owned, contractor-operated facility, and is funded through the United States Department of Energy.

This position reports to the General Counsel (GC) but will work principally under the direction of the Assistant General Counsel - Employment and Labor Law.
Primary responsibilities involve working on employee relations matters, including administrative proceedings and litigation. Working with all levels of NREL staff to obtain relevant information and preparing exhibits and other documents to accompany responsive legal filings are critical functions of this job. Coordinating directly with outside counsel to provide needed materials, schedule interviews, etc., are also key components. Must be skilled at performing legal research and documenting the results.
Additional responsibilities include paralegal support for NREL's Office of General Counsel as needed. Examples include preparation of formal documents related to supporting the Prime Contract, Policies/Procedures, and Records functions; and assistance with responses to Freedom of Information Act requests. Duties may also include drafting formal correspondence and managing invoices from outside vendors.

Demonstrated experience working as a paralegal in a professional collaborative environment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to convey ideas through all forms of correspondence are strongly favored. Ability to effectively collaborate with, form strong working relationships with, learn from, and communicate frequently and respectfully with all levels of NREL personnel.
Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task, and able to work independently while exhibiting outstanding interpersonal skills and team orientation. Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new software and systems are needed. Must be proficient with the Microsoft suite of products and with document management and redactions in programs such as Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with document management systems is preferred.
Solid skills in decision-making, time management, prioritization and executing under time pressure required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited college or university OR extensive, relevant legal experience. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited education program and at least three (3) years of experience working as a paralegal in employment litigation or a related field.
- Knowledge of Department of Energy national laboratories and/or federally funded research and development centers or government experience is a plus.
Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Job Profile: Specialist III / Annual Salary Range: $60,400 - $99,700
Job Profile: Specialist IV / Annual Salary Range: $69,400 - $114,500
