The Role: We have an opportunity for an Associate Architect, responsible for leading all phases of architectural design and analysis for a variety of industrial and laboratory projects ranging from programming to construction administration. The primary focus of this role will be to attend site visits with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) customers to learn the project scope and to write proposals/fees for new projects at SNL and other clients. Also included will be working with design team members to assemble a design package, attend site visits and meet with client engineers to discuss the design in review meetings.

Duties: As an Associate Architect with us, you will lead projects and work with other design team members on various projects. You will work on the architectural design and coordination of various projects, involving industrial, and laboratory projects and associated building systems, as well as surveying and evaluating existing facilities. You will independently support the project team from the initial design through the construction stages of the projects.

Team: You will work within multi-discipline project teams based around the US, to develop and deliver drawings and specification documents that meet client standards. You will lead and provide oversight of all architectural design and drawings prior to issuance. You will ensure client satisfaction by regularly communicating concepts and decisions with clients and the project team.
Requirements:
NCARB Licensed Architect.Professional degree from a NAAB-accredited program8+ years of relevant architecture experience. Key Accountabilities

The incumbent must be able to consistently perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Pet Parents and their Pets:

Ensure the safety, health and well-being of animals by following Petco standards, policies and procedures. Exhibits a high level interest in animal welfare. Salon Operations

Supervises the daily operations of the grooming salon. Reviews all grooming partners' paperwork(s) daily to ensure the proper sales are recorded on each pet and salon partner before turning in to the General Manager. In partnership with the General Manager, orders supplies as necessary for the grooming salon and properly maintains clippers, blades, and other hand tools required to perform grooming services. Assists with building the grooming business (IE: Reminder calls, Greeting guests on the sales floor and or during vaccination clinics or dog training sessions to promote grooming services). Adheres to and promotes established safety procedures and maintenance of clean, safe and healthy environment for store partners, guests and animals. Interacts professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with internal and external partners and guests. Ensures that the salon is staffed and properly trained to offer grooming services during all hours of operations. Work with General Manager on proper scheduling within the salon, to include days, evenings and weekends Meets grooming sales projections, controls payroll and expenses to meet target, maintains daily and weekly records, schedules guest grooming appointments, assists in preparation of bi-weekly work schedule. Minimum two years' experience in all breeds grooming is required. Experience monitoring and providing direction to Grooming partners is preferred. Work Environment

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds) and standing for long periods of time. A large amount of this partner's time will be spent in direct contact with our guests and their dogs and the remaining time will be with the other salon and store partners. The work environment can be noisy and wet. Improper use of safety equipment and/or not following proper lifting techniques may pose of risk of injury to customers, pets, and store personnel. Follow all safety precautions and procedures.

Contacts

This position has continuous contact with the general public at the store and at store-related events, and regular contact and exchange of information with other departments both in the field and at the Support Center(s). Contact outside of Petco may be required in order to coordinate merchandise returns, ordering parts, store repairs, coordination of vaccination clinics, store events, vendor meetings, etc.
