Lynden Transport is hiring for our Dock to Driver Training Program designed to pay for CDL Training for employees who would like to obtain their Class A CDL. Successful candidates will be hired as Freight Operations. While working as Freight Operations the employee will receive training on the dock/yard. During the training period the Service Center Manager will make a determination as to whether the employee is a good candidate for Training Program. The Service Center Manager will work with employee to begin the Training Program. The Training Program will be paid for by Lynden Transport. This is a safety sensitive position.
Once the employee is hired he/she will be responsible for the following Job Description:
Receives, loads, stores and distributes freight as directed. May do so manually or by using forklifts or other equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Loads and unloads trailers, with or without mechanical freight-handling equipment.
Ensures that load is secure by using a variety of cargo straps, tarps, ropes, lumber and other tools. This includes proper securement of both flatbeds and vans.
May perform lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device, such as forklifts or other equipment.
Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
Counts, inspects, checks markings on shipments for receiving and/or delivering per the requirements of the bill of lading or other documents.
Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or in computer system.
Enters information on company computer system as required. Data input methods include keypunching, scanning or other electronic processes.
Makes inquiries from computer system.
Operates other simple business machines.
Maintains detailed business records as required.
Reports any and all safety hazards.
Reports on-the-job-injuries or equipment/cargo accidents immediately to the on-duty supervisor.
Dependable and consistent attendance required.

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment used in the production of hydrated lime, pulverized lime, pulverized limestone, and various bagged lime products. The Material Handler will also be responsible for loading and unloading railcars, trucks, and trailers, while ensuring all products meet customer specifications and Graymont's quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Load and unload rail cars and trucks as directed
* Assure that all products meet the quality specifications
* Operate bag and bulk bag filling equipment, palletize filled bags, and prepare pallets of bags for shipment
* Operate production equipment, including but not limited to the hydrate, pulverized lime, pulverized limestone, and crushing and screening processes.
* Inspections of plant and machinery and report defects to ensure good state of repair and optimal operation.
* Verify lubrication and fluid levels and perform standard lubrication tasks.
* Assist in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance tasks on plant equipment
* Operating mobile equipment, including front end loader, forklift and dump truck. Obtain certifications required to operate mobile equipment.
* Identify potential problems and non-conformances from normal operation and report all unusual operating parameters or observations to Plant Management
* Assist with the review quality data and participating in the formulation of a corrective action plan as directed by Plant Management
* Adhering to all Graymont safety standards, principles, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
