The purpose of the Transportation Driver position is to assist with commuting resident to and from appointment/ designated locations. Assigned duties may vary by location' however, all Transportation Drivers are expected to fill gaps in their traveling schedules with constructive job duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
The following represents the essential functions of the Transportation Driver's role. This list is intended to be a general description of duties and responsibilities; however, it is subject to change according to the needs of the facility determined by the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
Complete and maintain adequate training regarding operation of the facility vehicle(s), vehicle equipment, safety harness/ strap system, transportation policies, transportation forms, vehicle checks, and reporting maintenance needs.
Transport residents timely and safely by following van, lift, and strap system manufacturer guidelines.
Complete facility errands requiring a vehicle to include but not limited to transporting resident belongings, facility equipment, documents, medication, shopping needs for residents, specimens, etc. to desired location as determined by the Director of Nursing an/or Administrator.
Act as facility liaison to communicate any occurrences and information from medical entities with the facility such as progress notes, follow-up appointments, etc.
Always provide distraction free operation of facility vehicles. No cell phone usages during vehicle operation.
Always lock vehicle upon parking/ leaving unattended.
Assure residents are fed appropriately by bringing prepared snack/meal from the dietary department. If unplanned/ prolonged trip causes resident to miss a meal, provide required documentation for meal expenditure(s) in a timely manner.
May sit at the nurses' station to monitor resident needs, answering call lights, answering phones, and assisting with facility workflow.
May assist with scheduling appointments and/or notification of resident and/or their responsible party of upcoming or rescheduled appointments.
May assist with supplies ordering, stocking, and/or inventory.
May assist with medical record organization and filing.
May, if Certified Nursing Aid, assist with resident on the hall or during meal service.
use appropriate tone and professional phone etiquette with residents, healthcare providers, visitors, and vendors.
Communicate messages in writing or verbally to the appropriate personnel without delay.
Assists and directs visitors and vendors to appropriate facility staff or resident location.
May assist in documenting complaints or medical records requests and is familiar with facility policies and procedures.
May retrieve faxes and distribute them timely/ appropriately.
May have data entry responsibilities to include, but not limited to census and lab orders.
Maintains a clean facility vehicle stocked with supplies as needed and/or vial the vehicle supplies checklist.
May assist with housekeeping/ environmental services duties such as keeping work area and/or nurses/ stations clean, chart rooms clean and organizes, helping with spot cleaning in high touch areas.
May monitor doors, be assigned to Fire Watch duties, be assigned to resident one on one supervision, and enforce sign in/out logs.
May assist other facility personnel or perform special projects as needed.
May complete other clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Must act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility to the community.
Communicates in professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, co-workers, care providers, and vendors.
Maintains confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and documentation as well as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
Records working hours per company policy. Clocks in and out for all working/ training hours.
Maintain compliance with Legacy's Compliance program and plan.
Adhere to Legacy's Code of Conduct and Dress Code.
These duties are not all-inclusive but provide minimum performance expectations which will be reviewed in the evaluation process. Supervisor may edit, alter, add to, or exclude duties and responsibilities based on the needs of the facility.

It took a lot of time and effort to get your Class A CDL license. You studied, went to the Academy. Took the time at the DMV.
After all of that you realize many carrier's won't give you a chance because you don't have at least 1 year's OTR experience.
We will. We will also pay you competitive wages while you go through our 30 day hands on training, helping mold you into a good safe driver. For 30 days straight we will take you all over the country, giving you the valuable training you need. During training you will be paid a salary of $650.
Once you have completed our 30 day OTR training you will come home then take 2-5 days off to unwind.
After which you will be assigned your company truck and start earning $1,200-$1400 a week on average depending on which run you choose. We offer OTR, regional runs. In some of the largest city's we also have local positions.
After you apply we will call and do a short phone interview with you.
Once approved for Orientation we then get you scheduled for Orientation. You'll spend 1 1/2 days in orientation.
After training is completed, you will be able to obtain experienced driver level and obtain higher paying dedicated, regional and OTR runs ect.
In order to qualify, you have had to graduated from a Class A Academy with at least 120 hours of training in the last 2 years.
Why would you want to work for us? We don't keep you in training for long periods of time like some carriers. We allow you to promote up quickly making bigger pay checks. We also get you home more often. We use excellent maintained trucks that won't have you parked on the side of the road.
As a bonus we offer tuition assistance of up to $1,000 to help pay off your Academy loan when you obtained your CDL. It's like a sign on bonus for trainees.
To get approved as a Class A Driver trainee you must…
Be at least 21 years of age
Have a fairly a clean MVR no suspensions in the last year
Have graduated from an accredited Academy attending for at least 120 hours of training in the last 2 years.
Be able to pass all background check
Be able to pass all DOT related tests including hair or urine test
Have a current Class A CDL and DOT physical in good standing with no in state restrictions.

KEY DUTIES (include but not limited to)
Instruction:

Follow the syllabus and lessons set forth by the Training Center Director Promote safe and friendly learning environment.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and communicate these to the Training Center director.
Assure that students meet all skill/course outcomes as shown in the Syllabus.

Inform Training Center Director of student issues such as: behavioral, academic, or personal
Manage student behavior in the classroom and the range by enforcing rules and procedures

Keep equipment, trucks, classrooms, and training grounds clean and well maintained - especially during health pandemics such as COVID-19
Follow all health department, state and federal laws concerning health warnings and observe all directives given i.e. masks, hand sanitizer use and availability in classrooms and in vehicles, cleaning of all equipment after the each student used the equipment, environment or materials.
Perform certain pastoral duties including but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement

Trainer's Professional Development Duties
Keep up to date with developments in subject area - that means the trainer must do some self -study.
Attend mandatory professional development training provided by the Training Center Director or other institutions i.e. CVTA.
Attend meetings and staff training sessions.
Performs any other duties within reason as assigned by Training Center Director or Principal Owner.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED, CDL and three years of tractor-trailer experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
Must have a teaching credential or at least three or more years of verifiable training experience (in any profession).
All Driver trainers should demonstrate the following:

We are hiring Class A TruckDrivers at entry level. 18 openings for entry level class a drivers that will be filled this week.
Once you got your Class A CDL license you found out just about no company will hire you without recent OTR experience. Most carriers won't give you a chance without experience we will.
To qualify you must be a graduate of an Academy that trained you for at least 120 hours within the last 2 years.
Once you are approved you will come in for our two day Orientation. Once that is completed you will go out with a trainer for 4 weeks. The goal is to build your confidence behind the wheel and turn you into a good safe class a driver.
Starting out driver earn $650.00 per week. This rate is for your first 30 days only.
Once training is completed you'll come home to unwind. Taking 2-5 days off then get moved into your own truck with a huge pay raise from $1200~$1400 on average depending on which position you chose once in your own company truck.
Applicants must be flexible when you first start and be patient to get the run you desire. It can take a few weeks to maybe a month or so to get exactly what you want.
We offer many dedicated, regional and OTR runs. Local runs in the bigger city's.
Our dedicated and regional runs get you home every week. Sometimes during the week depending where your load is going.
Drivers that run OTR, over the road runs get you home every 10-14 days for your days off.
Once on boarded and you work with us... We won't keep you in training for extended periods of time. We allow you to move up quickly making big pay checks. We will get you home more often. We use excellent maintained trucks that won't have you parked on the side of the road.
We offer tuition reimbursement up to $1,000 to pay off your Academy loan when you got your Class A license.
Qualified drivers at entry level you must be…
At least 21 years of age.
No large unemployment gaps. All work history must be verifiable.
Must have had a regular Class C license for at least 1 year before applying.
Possess a fairly clean MVR no recent accidents. No tickets pending
Able to pass background check
Able to pass all DOT related tests including hair or urine test
Currently licensed with a Class A CDL and DOT physical in good standing
Applicants must have a verifiable work history.
Must be a graduate of an Academy that trained you for at least 120 hours within the last 2 years.
Successful applicants will enjoy late model Freightliners. We have 10 speeds as well as Automatic trucks. If you have an auto restriction it won't be a problem. We have plenty of automatics.
