University of Kentucky lounge car attendant job description

UK Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking to hire temporary part time student position to support day to day operations in UK's new Esports gaming lounge, Innovation space, Theater, and Media Production Room.

The newly opened space called "The Cornerstone" is located on the corner of N. Limestone and Avenue of Champions and is the home of UK's Esports arena and innovative teaching and learning spaces. This position will serve in a variety of support roles including but not limited to providing exceptional customer service, student iPad technical support, Twitch streaming and casting,
and creating and posting to facility social media accounts.

The position will ensure customers understand how to: use the facility's services; access and play games; setup IDs and use payment systems; monitor customer's behavior and actions; ensure customers follow facility's rules. The position will also be responsible for maintaining the facility's equipment and systems. The position will work as part of ITS collaborative team and

have the opportunity to learn new technical skills and grow their skills while also having senior level support available to support their assigned tasks. The position will also support other departmental and facility needs as required.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. A Lounge Agent is responsible for preparing and replenishing food and beverage service in the Executive Lounge in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and to maximize profitability.
What will I be doing?

As a Lounge Agent, you will comfort executive Guests throughout their stay at the hotel by responding efficiently to their inquiries and offering advice and information as requested. A Lounge Agent contributes to the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

* Welcome executive Guests on arrival and assist them during their stay dealing efficiently with inquiries and any complaints
* Ensure that all Guest supplies and amenities are offered and replenished to the required standards
* Walk the lounge carefully in order to clear dirty dishes and glasses from the tables; carry dirty dishes and glasses them to the kitchen to be rinsed and placed in the dishwasher. Operate the dishwasher, remove and dry clean service ware and put them in their proper place.
* Sweep, mop, clean and maintain the Executive Floor kitchen, bar area, lounge and bathroom throughout the shift. Maintain the cleanliness of the lounge at all times.
* Polish and dust furniture in the Executive Lounge on a daily basis.
* Maintain established linen, equipment and service ware par levels in the kitchen and lounge.
* Set up food & beverage for transport into the Lounge area.

Overview:

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
