Ameresco is looking for a Medium Voltage Electrician to perform preventative maintenance tasks and respond to service calls. This person will work with the Operations and Maintenance Group to perform all duties related to medium voltage electrical work to ensure contractual obligations are met for solar operations and maintenance services.

Responsibilities:Maintain, troubleshoot, test, inspect and repair all medium voltage equipment on PV Solar systems, from the Utility owned equipment up to, but not including, the inverters. NOTE: Ameresco will provide training for this work but an intermediate working knowledge is required.Draw oil samples from transformers;Perform PV Solar Low Voltage work. Experience in dealing with various inverter manufactures is a plus; Recognize safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public;Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings and apply knowledge to daily tasks;Complete written and electronic records (i.e., work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed;Research, find, and source Medium Voltage related materials that are needed for repair/consumables;Coordinate with other Medium Voltage contractors to take lead on large MV projects that Ameresco does not have the ability to perform;Communicate with clients on Medium Voltage issues as needed;Willing to travel on occasion and cross train; and,Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or the equivalent required.Minimum of two (2) years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related Medium Voltage electrical/electronic equipment.Hoisting/DOT license and the ability to drive and operate the bucket truck, at time of hire is preferred.Current State of Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License.Valid Drivers License in good standing, issued by state of residence.

Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.Knowledge of Solar PV a plus.Knowledge of maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing with SEL relay as it correlates directly to the Medium Voltage customer owned recloser. Including re-programming and programming if necessary.Take initiative with MV experience to help grow the division.Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods of time with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.OSHA training and certification preferred.Travel and flexibility for ‘on call' support or varied schedule needs.

**General Summary**

Perform electrical functions associated with high voltage electrical distribution including maintenance of all electrical distribution, transformers, poles, and substations.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Diagnose and correct problems using blueprints, drawings, and specifications

+ Maintain proficiency in and conduct load requirement computing, wire sizing, and electrical equipment testing

+ Use and properly maintain electrical hand tools to ensure safety

+ Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces

+ Assist others as part of the installation team, as required

+ All maintenance and repair shall be performed by personnel trained and certified by the OEM.

**Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements**

+ Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED

+ Must know and comply with IEEE, OSHA, NICET, NETA (NETA level 2, level 3, or level 4 certified), UFC, NFPA, NEC standards with respect to the task being done.

+ Must possess all applicable state, federal, and/or local certification as required.

+ Familiar with working on or with electrical or electronic equipment

+ Considerable experience and knowledge of maintenance of high voltage overhead and underground distribution systems are required (i.e. 600 Volts or more)

+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, schematics, and drawings

**Work Environment**
