Maksteel USA powered by UPG is looking hire a Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team! Maksteel is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. Successful candidates will have ideally worked in the steel industry (but not required) and have a solid level of experience with the types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


Will be Working on the Slitter Banding Material Help Operator as needed Help empty scrap bin Work as a team to get material ready to ship. Keep an eye on material as it runs for any defects.

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but NOT required
  • Job-Related Experience….3 months - 1 year minimum with general knowledge of manufacturing processes. We will train

  POSITION SUMMARY: To perform various supervised tasks, generally of a less complex nature, related to the operation of the department. The success of this position is based on effectively carrying out the following “Core Duties and Responsibilities.”

  CORE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform various tasks related to manufacturing processes
  • Read and operate tape measure, gloss meter and caliper
  • Problem solve basic issues
  • Operate forklift and motorized toll motor
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Meet company-wide continuous improvement goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS: Tolerance for bending, standing and walking for long periods of time. 20-20 vision with or without prescribed eye glasses, speaking ability and hearing accuracy. Manual dexterity. Must be able to move or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. Able to tolerate working on the shop floor all day.

The Lamination Helper functions supports the activities of the Asst. Laminator Operator. This position is responsible for assisting the laminator operator to meet production schedules, and maintain compliance to company and customer quality standards, and policies in the Lamination Department.

Job Duties

• Compliance with all Company Quality System, Operational, and Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices, including safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Ensure efficient production of a quality product on a day to day basis.
• Maintain supply of adhesive for both lines.
• Load & unload material onto machine.
• Assist with set ups and changeovers.
• Fill in for asst. operators during breaks, lunches & absences.
• Alert Quality Assurance of any suspected material non-conformances.
• Operate in a manner that will reduce waste and optimize usable production.
• Participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas, planning, methods and operating procedures.
