Essential Duties:
Implement sequences of operations and machine setup requirements.
Operate CNC gear machines, including setup, adjustments, operating numeric control and computer numeric controlled turning and machining centers.
Could perform a variety of operations such as turning, boring, drilling, milling, reaming, taping, threading, etc. to produce close-tolerance parts.
Setup, adjust, and operate a variety of gear hobbing, shaping, grinding, and sawing machines producing close tolerance gears, splines, and pinions.
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, sequences of operations, and setup requirements.
Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers to perform precision machining operations.
Calculate, set and monitor controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance on equipment. familiar with and can operate controls from multiple manufactures. Add coolant and oil when needed. Keep chips off ways and jaws.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Ability to understand and follow applicable company and regulatory safety and environmental procedures.
Ability to understand and correctly utilize appropriate PPE equipment as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisors/Management.
Essential Function of the Job:
Ability to use and read precision measuring tools.
Understand gear tooth terminology. Proficient in use of calipers and mics.
Ability to read blueprints and proficient in measuring dimensions on blueprints.

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mechanics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Essential Function/Responsibilities:
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
Set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations (i.e., offsets, tool lengths, programs).
Ability to listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration, and be able to adjust machines to compensate for issues.
Modify cutting programs to address problems encountered during operation, and save the modified programs.
Calculate machine speed and feed ratios and the size and position of cuts.
Review program specifications and/or blueprints to determine and set up machine operations and sequencing.
Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices and tramming heads.
Perform periodic preventive maintenance on equipment in use, including daily cleaning and daily maintenance checklists.
Must be able to use holding fixtures, soft jaws, parallels, and other set-up fixtures and holding devices.
Maintains specifications while machining, sharpening, and replacing worn tools, and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Perform otherjob-relatedduties as assigned.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience:
5 years minimum experience operating a CNC milling machine using G and M code functions.
Must possess basic computer skills, basic math, and geometry.
Must have the ability to read and understand EIA code formats as well as conversational formats over several different controls and machine types.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
