As a CNC Machinist at RAM, you'll bring your expertise to a high-precision, high-impact environment where quality and craftsmanship matter. Position Summary:
Senior Machinist is a machinist who is highly proficient in CNC mills or lathes. Skill level exceeds that of the Machinist II. Can do process engineering and CNC programming of the most complex workpieces without any instructions. Must be able to do complex problem solving of machined parts and set ups.
Essential / Key Job Responsibilities:
* Own basic hand tools required for machinist trade.
* Program, set up, and operate CNC mill, lathe, and basic shop powered tools.
* Read drawings, follow verbal instructions, and apply basic mathematical skills to complete required tasks.
* Inspect own work using standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometer, and pin gages.
* Maintain a current status in field of expertise through continuing education and appliable trade shows.
* Work with SolidWorks solid models to create control programs for machines.
* Process engineering of machined parts.
Required Qualifications:
* 5-10 years' experience in machining and CAM programming.
* Ability to program, set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings with GD&T per ASME 14.5.
* Knowledge of various metals, plastics, machine shop operations.
* Effective time management.
* Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Mastercam and SolidWorks experience.
Education and/or Experience:
* Trade school certification or equivalent experience is desired, but not required.
