You will be a Precision Machining Technician at Lockheed Martin's Chelmsford, MA facility, working on the second shift (with the option to move to first or third shift). In this fast paced, high growth environment you will turn raw stock, castings, forgings, dies and fixtures into high quality aerospace and defense hardware. What You Will Be Doing
As a member of our skilled shop floor team you will set up and operate a variety of manual, CNC and grinding machines, interpret blueprints (including GD&T), and fabricate complex parts to exacting tolerances. You will also suggest producibility improvements, calibrate tools, and ensure every component meets specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Set up and run manual and CNC machines for drilling, boring, milling, and turning of metal, exotic non metallic and composite materials.

Role Overview
The Field Service Machinist I is responsible for setting up and operating CNC, manual, and portable field machining equipment to support the maintenance and repair of Steam and Gas Turbine components. JE Technology Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with strong programming, setup, and machining expertise to support our precision manufacturing operations. This role requires deep technical knowledge of CNC machining processes, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to independently run complex jobs from programming through final inspection.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on machinist with experience producing tight-tolerance parts, optimizing machining strategies, and working within an ISO-certified environment. This position plays a key role in prototype, small-batch, and production machining.
Primary Responsibilities:
CNC Programming & Setup
Create, modify, and optimize CAM programs for CNC mills.
Perform complete machine setups including material verification, fixturing, work offsets, tool selection, and tool presetting.
Write and edit G & M code at the machine using Fanuc controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and part quality.
Utilize Renishaw probing systems for automated and manual probing cycles; develop and adjust probe macros as needed.
Machining & Production
Machine precision parts to tight tolerances based on detailed drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
Operate CNC equipment to complete roughing, finishing, drilling, tapping, contouring, pocketing, and complex multi-axis operations.
Manage multiple machines at once when appropriate while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Monitor tool wear and adjust offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production cycles.
Build and modify fixtures, work holding solutions, and support tooling to improve setup repeatability.
Inspection & Quality
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and complete in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, etc.
Verify accuracy of machined components according to GD&T callouts such as true position, concentricity, parallelism, and flatness.
Document inspection results and collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager on process improvements.
Perform 100% inspection on new or critical components.
Continuous Improvement
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to minimize setup times, improve workflow, and increase throughput.
Recommend and test new tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies to improve efficiency.
Assist with the development of setup sheets, process documentation, and standard work instructions.
Support engineering and management during pilot runs and new job prove-outs.
Teamwork & Leadership
Assist in training, mentoring, and guiding junior machinists and machine operators.
Provide technical expertise to address machining challenges and support production goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with ISO standards and company policies.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience with proven ability to independently run complex CNC parts.
Strong hands-on experience with Fanuc controls, G/M code programming, and CAM programming.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, GD&T, datum structures, and tolerancing.
Experience with Renishaw probing systems and manual probing macros preferred.
Strong understanding of machining principles: speeds/feeds, tool selection, materials, cutter paths, and work holding strategies.
Experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment preferred.
Leadership, mentoring, or lead machinist experience is a plus.
High school diploma required; technical certification or machining-related degree preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Reliable transportation is required.

What You Will Be Doing
As a member of our skilled shop floor team you will set up and operate a variety of manual, CNC and grinding machines, interpret blueprints (including GD&T), and fabricate complex parts to exacting tolerances. Your responsibilities will include:
