JOB PURPOSE The Manual Machinist uses a variety of tools to machine component parts for aircraft engines. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Job Functions Operate machining tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Modify parts and materials to improve overall production. Test completed equipment to detect and remove defects. Perform routine maintenance on machinery. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments. Ideal candidates will offer: Must possess a full understanding and hands-on experience with manual lathes, manual milling machines and related machine shop equipment Strong mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude Job shop machinist with a minimum of (5) years-experience Strong mathematical skills Proficient in the use of micrometers, Vernier calipers and indicators Physical Demands: This is a primarily standing position at least 80% of the day. Must be able to push/pull at least 50lbs., ability to reach above, bend over and carry at least 30 lbs.
