Job Description:

Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer with a passion for building high quality applications using agile practices to join our Mainframe Security and Compliance team. In this role, you will be a key member of the development team and will focus on building, testing, and supporting leading edge Mainframe Security solutions used by many of the world's largest companies.

We are looking for an engineer who is highly motivated, team oriented and has excellent organization and problem-solving skills. The individual and team goal will be to develop and maintain high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives.

Preferred work Location for this position is in our Lisle, IL office.

What you will be doing in a typical week:
Applying your past experience to inform the product roadmap;Experimenting with new technologies that improve our software;Developing modern high-quality software - Create unit tests and perform functional testing of software to find bugs and confirm that delivered software meets specifications and quality requirements;Interactions with customers for demos, and feedback sessions;Work closely with UX design engineers to design and implement user interfaces;Drive opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity through best practices.

Has development experience in the IBM mainframe environment;Experience in software development using IBM Assembler/Metal C on the mainframe (zOS or zVSE) platform;Mainframe debugging skills using IPCS, VM Trace, XDC, etc.Experience is implementing JCL to execute batch processes in zOS or zVSE;Exposure to RESTful APIs and Object-Oriented Programming. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Experience mentoring, teaching, and developing lessor experience team members Experience in software testing methodologies such as BDD and TDDKnowledge of Source Code Controls such as Endevor and GithubWorking experience in an Agile Software Development environment Effective communication skills Experience in Agile Software Development;

Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a software related field.

Job Summary: Fusion Technology has an opening on the ESA V program for a Mainframe Programmer operating in the z/OS operating system. ESA V is an IT Services program supporting several customers within the Department of Justice. The program provides a range of IT services, including help desk, deskside support, Windows workstation engineering and maintenance, Windows Server, managed print services, ITSM, Active Directory services, and video conferencing, and all server and network infrastructure, among others.

The Mainframe Programmer will be a part of our Mainframe Engineering team primarily responsible for maintaining network security technologies in support of end-user computing needs as well as server hosting for a variety of applications and enterprise services. The primary responsibility of the Mainframe Programmer will be managing, operating, and maintaining IBM Mainframe Services within z/OS

Day to day tasks include:

* Document all platform service processes and procedures and maintain the artifacts in a document repository
* Perform system operation support including server system administration

* Software installation, automations, and migrations
* Supporting backup and recovery tasks
* Evaluating new hardware and software, with the goal of improving and increasingly efficient operations

Required Qualifications:

* 12+ years of overall related experience with an IBM z/OS Mainframe environment
* Expert knowledge of Db2 for z/OS and it's subsystems
* Support on a M-F business hours schedule in the US Eastern time zone
* Extended hour and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies
* Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
* Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
* Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer's information, prior to start date

* z/OS Certifications and Training
* Content Managers: one Content Manager Multiple LPARs

* Knowledge of the following tools: Java, COBOL, CICS TS, Unix, OAM, IBM Apache Server, FDR, DFSMS, ISPF, CICS
* Ability to apply user requirements to the analysis, planning, and design of technology systems.
* Ability to communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to the Government Lead.
* Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
* Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
* Ability to interface with all customer levels.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with using ITSM for ticketing and change management (ServiceNow specifically)

The Mainframe Engineering team is currently operating 100% Remote, however a return to work on-site at a customer site in Washington, DC is possible. Telework or 100% Remote work arrangements as a part of any potential return to work plan are negotiable.

We have an excellent opportunity within our Card Payment Solutions Technical Operations group for a Manager position of Mainframe operations . This Manager will be working within the technical architecture, design, and configuration of the Mainframe system. You will be responsible for all things Mainframe along with the team reporting to you. You will work with the application development teams and technical support teams on issues with the various applications. You will work through audits and disaster recovery events. This position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the United States.
What you'll be responsible for:

•Accurately assesses the customer's product issue or problem. Asks the user well thought out or detailed questions and carefully listens to the user's response to fully comprehend the need, product issue, and best avenue for resolving the problem.
•Researches customer problems/issues to increase personal knowledge and familiarity with the supported product and to provide the highest level of support possible. Keeps current on most recent changes and/or upgrades.
•Identifies and resolves application and service issues and any other questions that may arise.
•Provides appropriate personnel a precise understanding of user's issues when the problem needs to be escalated to a higher level.
•Monitors incoming cases and emails and resolves in accordance with Service Level Standard (SLS) guidelines. Uses available support tools to assist the customer and/or recreate the issue.
•Participates in training programs to continuously improve product knowledge and service skills.
•Primary contact within support team for daily questions and issues. May serve as first tier of response for escalated cases.
•May provide assistance in the areas of training (trend reporting, internal documentation, cross training, etc.), staff meetings and periodic written documentation for customers.
•Works on special projects or research, as needed.
•Act as manager of the mainframe operations team who is responsible for various mainframe technologies such as TSO, JCL, java, node.js, COBOL, as well as a deep understanding of distributed technologies that interact with the mainframe.
•Budget and costs related to the mainframe.
•Working with customers, peers, and upper management as required.
•May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

•Minimum of 7 years of experience administrating in a mainframe environment as a senior-level system programmer.
•Minimum 3 years of supervisory, team lead, or managerial experience.
•Must have a bachelor's degree.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience working with JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Omegamon, TSO, and other mainframe technologies.
•Deep understanding of contracts and costs associated with the mainframe and how to manage expenses related to the systems.
•Technical and management experience to mentor staff, prioritize team workloads and resolve technical issues as required.
•Must be available to work after-hours support issues as needed.
