HEPCO, Inc., is searching for a direct placement candidate to fill a vacancy for a Mainframe System Programmer who will provide support of the IBM mainframe computer system, program products and subsystems. This position is for placement as a New York City employee.
Primary Responsibilities:


Primary responsibilities will be to hire a z/OS systems programmer in the System Services group who has in-depth experience with the mainframe z/OS operating system, its subsystems and related program products including: UNIX Systems Services. In addition, the candidate must have experience with VT AM and TCP/IP, The candidate will be required to support, maintain and install the above products.


Preferred Skills


• Experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
• Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON
• Individual will be required to provide Production 24/7 coverage (if required) and support weekend implementations.
• Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation
• Excellent Communications skills {Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required
• The ability to work as part of a group and individually
• The ability to shuffle priorities in response to a changing workload.
• The ability to keep up with changing technology.
• Must be reliable, honest and technically inclined.

Must be willing to learn new technologies which the candidate may have no experience with.


Minimum Qualification Requirements


1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide stable and secure mainframe network engineering support for the company's Enterprise Compute Services (ECS) Infrastructure
  • Mainframe Network Product installations, customizations and evaluations.

  • Manage & Support Transmission Products FTPs (SSL), sFTP (SSH), & Connect:Direct Secure (NDM)
  • Manage & Support Session Manager applications - TPX, Supersession
  • Develop Mainframe Network Toolkits with the help of NetMaster, NetView, Rexx & CLISTS
  • Maintain Mainframe Network Components: TCP/IP including DVIPA & DDVIPA configurations, IPSEC, IPFILTER, Intrusion Detection Services (IDS), Enterprise Extender (EE), SNA, VTAM, APPN, OSA connectivity interface to the Core Network.
  • Provide logical connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems
  • Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures
  • Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC, AT-TLS, and TLS) and monitoring of protocols and cyphers aligned to company policies
  • Have knowledge on Network Monitoring tools (Omegamon, Mainview, Mainframe Tracing, Sniffers)
  • Support Inclusion and Diversity collaboration with other technical and business partners

Skills / Experience You Will Need:
  • BS/BA/BE degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management), Design (compliance, security),
