The Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, Delaware Valley Veterans' Home is looking for a full-time Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform skilled work in a variety of trades in order to prepare, maintain and repair our buildings, grounds, machinery and equipment. Come join the DMVA team, apply today!This position performs various tasks in general carpentry work, repair and installation of walls, ceilings, floors, windows, siding, piping and spouting. You will also cut glass and glaze, as well as use and maintenance of various power tools and grounds keeping duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

* Full-time employment.
* Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch;
* 7.50 hrs/day; 37.5 hrs/week. Evenings and weekends as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

* Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
* Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Necessary Special Requirement:

* You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirement:

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

* Experience with commercial carpentry, plumbing, electrical.

* Experience with refrigeration and HVAC,

* Experience with wiring generators, automatic transfer switches, switch gears, 3 -phase panels,

* Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters.

* Experience with provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Codes.

* Maintenance and repair of buildings at a long-term care facility.
