Production design. You are comfortable laying out relatively simple documents based on existing style. You have medium to high HTML and CSS skills and can produce and modify digital course material as needed. You are also familiar with file types for the web and video streaming formats. You are also able to examine press proofs and evaluate print vendors.

Quality assurance. You have a high degree of competence with Apple and Adobe CS applications, phenomenal attention to detail, solid knowledge of fonts and typesetting, and ability to work with PDFs, PDF forms, and ePub documents. You will also track releases of these applications - as well as Apple OS - to ensure all existing media performs correctly through updates.

Accessibility. You are familiar with or interested in producing accessible material for those with disabilities, using WCAG guidelines, and ideally Apple's AA+ standard. You would also test our materials with a range of assistive technologies, such as VoiceOver, Voice Control, Switch Control, Full Keyboard Access, and Larger Text. You will review documents for possible issues and work with producers to modify them as necessary. You will partner with the Marcom Video Accessibility team to create captions and audio descriptions. Ideally, you would help implement accessible design from project inception.

Localization. You are familiar with localization workflows and linguistic challenges, and preferably have some competence with one or more languages besides English. You will set up source files, including modifying them with live text as necessary, write localization briefs, route vendor quotes for approval, and track spend against budget.

Asset management. You understand and have implemented asset workflows, version control, server storage, and access controls. You are also familiar with stock image banks and resources.

Usage rights clearance. You are knowledgeable about copyright policy in general and with Apple's policies specifically. You will review all AU materials for third-party rights issues, make usage requests directly to rights-holders, and for high-profile or critical content partner with the Apple Legal Licensing team.

5-7 years of experience building and practicing these skills, and can demonstrate them through a portfolio of your work. We're open to a wide variety of prior roles and backgrounds and especially interested in candidates with depth and breadth of expertise.

You take initiative and are proactive in recommending solutions to workflow and production. Embrace change, love to learn, and can pivot quickly when priorities and methods require it.

You truly and deeply appreciate how working with others will make something better. You embrace iteration and collaboration, even when they can be messy and frustrating. You have the humility and curiosity that this requires.

You're committed to inclusion. You take seriously all the experiences and perspectives that people could bring to your work or take from it.

You can see an issue from many angles. You understand the importance both of voicing your own opinion and of listening to others with an open mind. You can discuss something in a balanced and nuanced way.

You're intrigued by "the intersection of technology and liberal arts." This is an idea that captures Apple's view on what makes something great, and something we take seriously in Apple University.

You have real curiosity about organizations - especially about Apple. You seek out opportunities to learn, and would set your sights on the challenges and opportunities inside one of the world's most influential companies.

You're comfortable behind the scenes - and prepared to persuade when needed. You like being the person behind the person at the front of the room.
