Manager network engineering job description

Zoox's Road Network team is responsible for developing the tools and infrastructure necessary to build, curate, and manage our high definition road network.

To achieve these goals, ZRN has built several web applications that enable us to visualize, inspect, and validate the semantic road data. Web front-end engineers work on both high-level services like internal visualization tools, and the underlying technologies that accurately render the semantic data which is used in numerous applications across the company. We're just getting started, and we have many more tools we can't wait to build as we develop our web team.

We are looking for candidates with frontend web experience (full stack experience is a big bonus!) who are excited to shape the future of our web tools. We use Three.js and Vue.js in most of our applications.

JOB PURPOSE-

Looking for an experienced network manager for our Corporate and Retail Network Engineering team to help guide the design, development, and support of our scalable networking solutions facilitating communications between internal customers, applications, and hosted/vendor solutions. As a member of the IT Infrastructure & Operations Team, this position will be responsible for day-to-day management and growth of a best-in-class Network Engineering Team dedicated to developing and implementing innovative solutions in support of Skechers global growth schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

Develop an effective team by driving the recruiting and hiring of engineers, conduct performance reviews, and support individual career development. Ensure primary and backup support resources are identified and trained for 24x7 support model.

Communicate with Sr leadership to plan and implement Strategic Roadmap initiatives. The manager also communicates with other IT and Retail personnel as well as vendors and contractors to coordinate and implement roadmap projects.

Implement process improvement by empowering peer departments with procedures and toolsets to best support the business. Facilitate change management, incident management and notifications as well as root cause analysis.

Collaborate with technical architects and engineers to develop technical designs and solution recommendations.

Partner with other internal infrastructure teams and third-party vendors to develop consistent and scalable solutions.

Standardization of Information and Technology environment to ensure cost effective use of resources and service reliability.

Provide technical oversight and handle escalations for activities related to the retail and corporate network infrastructure.

Participate in design and production deployment of new networking solutions or updates to existing environments.

Manage network manufacturer and vendor technical relationships in support of service offerings.

Manage network infrastructure Change, incident, and problem queues.

Accountable for delivering root cause analysis reports as related to retail and corporate infrastructure.

Alianza is seeking an experienced telecommunications service provider professional with expertise in building next-gen UCaaS solutions. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of our Voice Engineering and Network Engineering teams which own architecture, design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our highly available VoIP platform. This position works closely with software engineering, product management and customer success teams to constantly innovate and improve the Alianza platform.

We are looking for a person with strong technical skills, knowledge, and ability to lead technical teams. The successful candidate is a seasoned VoIP engineer with a strong understanding of the telecommunications industry, VoIP signaling and media protocols, networking, cloud platforms and computing virtualization. This is a hands-on role that will provide exciting leadership and engineering challenges.

Requirements

5+ years of voice network engineering, solution design and troubleshooting (senior level skills)

2+ years managing highly functional engineering team(s)

Experience architecting and operating highly scalable and highly available VoIP services

Deep understanding of VoIP/SIP

Deep understanding of networking concepts, architecture, and implementation

Deep understanding of carrier/enterprise telephony platforms

Experience using IaaS and PaaS, preferably in AWS

Experience with Linux/Unix, specifically virtualization (KVM)

Experience deploying and operating VoIP/network monitoring, reporting and alerting systems.

Experience implementing, operating, and managing large scale deployments of SIP/VoIP phones and gateways (xTA, Cable Modem, ONT/ONU) is favorable

Experience with IMS, xPON/AE, Packet Cable networks is favorable
