This position is a part of Mueller's Development Program (MDP). The program is 2 years in duration (may vary based on employee's start date), and consists of rotational experiences, formal mentorship, and a standardized training curriculum; all of which are designed to provide a broad range of experiences in various facets to accelerate development in desired function. Rotation location will be assigned based on business need and career aspirations.

Our Manufacturing Engineer Development Program offers experience across process design, productivity optimization, 3D manufacturing technology, factory floor digitalization, project management, and new product industrialization. The program further provides cross functional exposure and collaboration with continuous improvement, sustainability, supervision, supply chain, EH&S, quality & foundry operations functions. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates process flow, fabrication methods, and integration within overall production landscape. Assesses product requirements relative to use model and suggests fabrication improvements.
Develops and recommends continuous improvement tasks and tracks progress of actions as key inputs to task progress. Tracks key financial indicators of continuous improvement health.
May conduct feasibility studies on new and modified designs.
Runs Pilot production activities.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
May direct support personnel in preparation of detailed design, design testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
Some travel may be required.

Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a BS Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degree plus 5 - 8 years of experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
Preferred Experience with OEM / Capital Equipment Manufacturing and/or Weldment / Sheet Metal / Machining Fabrication and/or Powder Coating application.
Solidworks proficiency.Microsoft office proficiency, including Visio.Preferred ability to interface with a wide variety of personnel in group and one-on-one settings.Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.Travel Requirements: Minimal

Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments necessary to meet engineering specifications for their process.Participate in the development of intellectual property.Development of the equipment necessary to exploit the understanding gained in research (in collaboration with equipment suppliers).Work effectively with the equipment supplier to identify shortcomings, propose and evaluate hardware modification to mitigate issues.Operate the manufacturing line in order to integrate the many individual steps necessary for the manufacture of complex microprocessors.Insitu ramp to manufacturing volumes to demonstrate the technology meets requirements while simultaneously transferring the technology to counterparts in manufacturing via the Copy Exactly Methodology.Install and qualify manufacturing capacity at the development site and audit installation/qualification and supervise the first full loop at the production site.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree majoring in Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Optics, or Chemistry AND 3+ years of Fab experience Master's degree majoring in Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Optics, or Chemistry AND +1 year of Fab experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
6+ months of experience in:
Materials characterization (SEM, TEM, etc.) Materials fabrication/synthesis/metrology Statistical data analysis MATLAB, Excel, JMP, etc., or design of experiment (DOE).
