A day in the life.
As a Strategic Client Executive on the EHB team, you will manage complex client portfolios and serve as the primary contact for HR, Finance, and C-suite leaders. You will lead client implementation processes by coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing service delivery, while resolving claims, billing, and eligibility issues to maintain a seamless client experience. You will oversee all deliverables and timelines to ensure accuracy and timely completion, collaborate with internal teams to align client strategies with market trends and benchmarking data-including Mercer Survey insights-and lead staff training to foster strong relationships across all client levels. Additionally, you will coordinate with Client Service Support and specialty teams to review tasks, monitor progress, and strategize upcoming projects. Managing data entry and analysis in the Agency Management System will inform marketing and proposal strategies. You will also lead the RFP process by guiding support teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with client needs, present proposals internally, participate in carrier negotiations, and contribute to strategic planning.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in Employee Benefits or HR required; 7 years experience preferred
* Extensive (in depth) knowledge of applicable insurance products/lines inclusive of fully insured and self-funded markets
* Extensive knowledge of risk management techniques, employee benefits markets and marketing techniques, as well as knowledge of carrier appetite
* Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

As our Sales Consultant on the Employee Health & Benefits team, you'll perform consultative selling to mid-market companies. Employee Health & Benefits and Business Insurance are our sweet spots, and we welcome established books of business. This role focuses on the growth and development of a profitable book of business, which includes the assessment and recommendation of appropriate Employee Health & Benefit services and solutions, retention and satisfaction of existing clientele, and new client production.

Responsibilities
The Intern, Underwriting will train with key team members to learn and participate in the process of underwriting and servicing of renewal accounts. The intern will provide general operations support to the Underwriting Department including the processing of binders, policies, endorsements, submissions and other client related correspondence for new and existing accounts.
The internship is for the semester with opportunity to extend based on company need and job performance.
15-20 hours per week
* Supports underwriting through processing of endorsements and related correspondence.
* This temporary based position requires strong analysis skills applied in supporting and meeting service standards, objectives, and following Berkley Specialty Excess's underwriting guidelines.
* Availability to work independently, both on a remote and potential on a hybrid based in-person schedule through the summer months.
* Ability to prioritize work with little assistance.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career related work experience within the industry.
* Career Interest in Underwriting/Excess and Surplus Lines.
* Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills.
* Strong research and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Education:
* Pursuit of a bachelor's degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance (or other applicable major) preferred.
* A rising Junior or Senior is preferred.
* GPA of 3.0 and above required.
