    The Forming Handler Winder (FHW) is an hourly position, reporting to the Operations Team Leader. The FHW safely operates a continuous forming process on the winder and pack out operations while ensuring product meets department's quality standards. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: * Live the Owens Corning Amarillo Safety Stand and meet all quarterly safety requirements. * Participate in the safety, quality, TPM and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant; including but not limited to Kaizen, Central Safety Committee, etc. * Perform job tasks in a manner to reduce an adverse impact to the environment and adhere to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal. * Comply with all plant rules, safety regulations and job hazard analysis (JHA) requirements. * Perform daily safety and quality audits to ensure all equipment is in working condition and product meets visual quality standards. * Visually inspect product and equipment. * Collect QC samples for QLT yardage checks. * Ensure cleanliness and alignment of strand contact points; including, but not limited to take down blade, collet, guide eye, etc. * Clean and control assigned equipment or request proper maintenance assistance. * Operate winder equipment; including, but not limited to, winder index, pull rollers, etc. * Doff, identify, and position packages on carriers per identification (ID) tag. * Replace rubber bands on end caps as required. * Ensure all carriers are properly labeled before releasing. * Maintain performance level according to targets. * Operate in-line chop equipment and ensure quality, accurate weights, and other production standards. * Assemble specified containers with labels and weights, then palletize, fill-in tally, and transport palletized material. * Use forklift and other related material handling machinery, when required. * Perform cleanup duties (including, but not limited to, equipment areas, workstations, etc.) * Provide relief for FHWs and other positions of previous qualification, as required. * Perform cleanup duties (including, but not limited to, equipment areas, workstations, etc.). * Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the area leader. Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Responsibilities: * Picking and packing, loading/unloading trucks, managing inventory and returns, safely and securely preparing product to ship * Ensure that information is entered into the computer system accurately, using RF Scanners if applicable, and confirm product is delivered to applicable packaging, order pulling, or stocking departments as necessary. * Periodic review of customer fastener and related product inventory in various stocking locations within their facility * Generate orders as necessary for product and prepare for subsequent delivery and stocking activity. * Help receive inbound shipments daily; confirming correct product/quantities * Pulling/Staging orders for customer as product comes in for will call or delivery in a timely manner * Assisting with all out bound shipments daily: UPS, FEDEX, Freight, and deliveries * Assisting Will Call orders * Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean and organized, and product stocked correctly * Occasional delivery driving Back up Driving: Deliver and pickup product to and from branches, customers, and suppliers: * Follow priorities and schedules for delivery as set by warehouse supervisors. * Ensure that cargo is properly secured and safely load, unload, and otherwise transfer the product. * Ensure that paperwork is properly completed and filed, including customer signed receiver copies, customer pack list copies, vendor purchase orders, tool repair tags, etc. * Use RF scanners to indicate that orders are put on the truck or have been delivered. * Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner using applicable safety equipment. Decision/Information Sharing and Communication: * Must tell the system the EXACT product, actual quantities, actual warehouse locations, actual traceability numbers, etc. * Highlight discrepancies in the system regarding inventory locations or stock availability. * Seek supervisor assistance for products that cannot be found, are not available, etc. * Work well with other warehouse departments, including receiving, shipping, and order pulling, to ensure productive and efficient workflow in the warehouse. * Report immediately to supervisors or other managers any areas or items that may be a safety hazard. Physical Requirements: * This position typically requires that the employee lift heavy boxes, products, or other items, up to or more than 50 lbs. * This position will require that the employee stand for virtually their entire shift (8 or more hours) * This position requires the employee to be seated in a vehicle for extended periods of time. * Employee must be in good physical condition, as they must frequently climb on top of loads, enter and exit the vehicle, crouch and squat, and load and unload product. * In the case of a CDL Driver, a current Medical Certificate issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT) is required.
