The focus of this position will be to provide electric power generation service, industrial engine service, and service to the petroleum industry for our customers. The successful candidate must possess appropriate training and relevant work experience on electric power generation systems and industrial engines to successfully diagnose, repair, and complete technical startup of diesel and gas engines and generator sets, transfer switches, and switch gear; provide support for the oil and gas industry, to service natural gas and diesel products for our customers. Must possess appropriate training and relevant work experience on natural gas, diesel and industrial engine systems to successfully diagnose, repair, and complete technical startup of diesel and natural gas engines. After hours and weekend assignments are often required to satisfy customer demands and repair time schedules.
The essential functions of this position includes the following:

# Project Overview

Bechtel is on the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system of inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure. GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation's aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.

# Position Summary

Assigned to the Construction organization as a Mechanical Field Engineer and Subcontract Technical Representative (STR), reporting to the Project Field Engineer (PFE). Responsible for providing

engineering guidance to superintendents and craft personnel, assists personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and workmanship. Ensures the construction results

meet specified design requirements. Performs various construction engineering assignments requiring a working knowledge of construction engineering practices. Also responsible for contract formation

activities that support the solicitation, evaluation, selection, and administration of subcontractors required for the execution of construction activities.

# Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

+ Determines the technical requirements for the piping and mechanical scope of work, and coordinates with Engineering on constructability issues.

+ Monitors work activities and ensures the technical adequacy and quality of the work performed.

+ Assists construction engineers and superintendents.

+ Interprets design drawings.

+ Monitors piping and mechanical equipment installation.

+ Plans for delivery of construction materials and equipment.

+ Prepares and coordinates technical change documents (field changes, etc.) with responsible engineers.

+ Reviews all piping and mechanical field engineering technical changes.

+ Demonstrates technical knowledge of pipe hydrotesting and pneumatic pipe testing processes and work steps, including the disassembly and re-instatement of pipe systems.

+ Defines the boundaries of a pressure test to be performed, identify the key elements that should be included in the pressure test plan, and identify safety hazards associated with the test.

+ Conducts the pipe pressure test by witnessing, verifying, accepting, and recording the test results.

+ Coordinates and resolves material/equipment issues with Procurement.

+ Participates in the preparation of construction drawings and schedules.

+ Executes the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.

+ Reviews specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data to assist and advise on‑site.

# Qualifications and Skills

**Basic Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university and 3+ years of related professional experience, or 9+ years related experience in lieu of degree.

+ Must be a US citizen.

+ Possesses an active security clearance, or the ability to obtain security clearance.

+ Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.

+ Must be able to obtain a site security badge.
