This part-time position is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of Six Flags St. Louis during overnight hours. This includes securing and monitoring the property as a whole, providing access control, and responding to incidents. Officers may be assigned to posted positions, mobile patrols, or other operations to ensure the safety of guests, team members, and company assets.
Responsibilities:
· Secure gates and checkpoints, verifying identification for all personnel and vehicles entering or exiting the property.
· Monitor and patrol the property perimeter, including doors, gates, and buildings.
· Operate mobile patrol units to conduct security tours and respond to incidents.
· Respond promptly to security-related incidents and other emergencies.
· Communicate effectively including clear radio communications and writing accurate, concise incident reports.
· Enforce local, state, and federal laws on park property.
· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to guests, vendors, and company operations.
· Maintain proper attendance, punctuality, and professional standards of performance.
· Uphold image, cleanliness, and courtesy standards in all interactions.
· Cooperate with team members and management to complete assigned tasks.
· Ensure compliance with Six Flags policies and procedures at all times.
· Perform additional duties as requested by Six Flags St. Louis Management.
· Standard shifts are 11:15pm-7:30am, 4 days a week.
Qualifications:
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Must have a valid driver's license

· Must be able to obtain a St. Louis Metropolitan Security License and maintain required certifications.

Job Description
Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and company assets. Duties include but not limited to patrolling property, monitoring security systems, responding to emergencies, and delivering excellent guest service in a professional and courteous manner.
Unarmed Security Officers carry and may utilize non-lethal weapons and defensive equipment which requires completion of company training, qualifications and passing all related examinations.

Patrol and monitor all areas of the property, including exterior areas, on foot, bicycle, or in a company vehicle.
Monitor alarm systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems and other security equipment.
Deliver excellent guest service, responding to questions, complaints, and/or conflicts in a professional manner.
Respond to physical threats. altercations, or aggressive behavior.
When necessary, engage in self-defense, and defensive tactics (including take downs, handcuffing, restraining, or subduing an assailant).
Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to minimize the need for force.
Act as a first responder during emergencies (medical, fire, criminal, natural disasters).
Perform gaming drops and transactions, including carrying and transporting drop boxes and chip carriers. (min weight approx. 3 lbs to max weight 50 lbs)
Write detailed and accurate incident reports on accidents, property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences.
Serve as dispatcher to relay information, messages, or emergencies by phone or radio.
Administer first aid/CPR/AED and Narcan and follow medical emergency protocols.
Secure and preserve incident scenes, conduct evacuation procedures, and summon emergency responders when appropriate.
Attend and successfully pass all recurring mandatory training (legal, defensive tactics, CPR/AED, drills, etc).
Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and communication devices.
Respond to all emergencies, including fires, medical incidents, and criminal activity.
Observe, report, and take appropriate action on suspicious or criminal activity.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 1 year of experience in security, customer service, or related role.
Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to successfully complete company Security Officer Academy.

General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

This employee oversees all aspects of campus physical security to ensure the safety of students, patients, visitors, and employees. The Supervisor shall have the ability to work with all elements of the University and its various publics with a direct reporting relationship to the Director of Campus Safety. The position will assist the Director of Campus Safety in reporting all Clery Act requirements to ensure university compliance.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise daily operations of Campus Safety personnel and contracted Security Officers assigned to the site(s).
+ Develop, implement, and monitor security procedures and protocols to safeguard University assets and individuals.
+ Collaborate with University departments, internal/external partners, and stakeholders to support a comprehensive safety and security strategy.
+ Assist the Director of Campus Safety in ensuring compliance with the Clery Act by preparing and submitting reports and supporting timely notification and disclosure requirements.
+ Conduct regular emergency drills and assessments of physical security infrastructure and recommend improvements or updates based on industry best practices.
+ Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and assist in resolving safety and security concerns.
+ Train, mentor, and evaluate Campus Safety/Security personnel to maintain professional standards and high levels of performance.
+ Represent the Campus Safety department in meetings, emergency planning sessions, and campus events as needed.
+ Serve as the on-site point of contact during safety incidents, emergencies, or drills while maintaining composure and decorum to deescalate situations.
+ Carry out additional responsibilities and special assignments as directed by the Director of Campus Safety.
Requirements
**Skills/Experience:**
Previous physical security experience.
Must have an active St. Louis City Security License.
Supervision experience preferred.

Work Hours:
Monday-Friday, 6 am - 2 pm.
Saturday - Periodic.
Sunday - emergency only.

Examples of Duties
Corrections Officers provide a wide variety of duties to include:
* Security Management: Monitor and control inmate activities, ensuring adherence to facility rules and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to prevent contraband and maintain safety.
* Inmate Supervision: Oversee daily activities of inmates, including meal times, recreation, and work assignments. Provide guidance and support while maintaining authority.
* Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or disturbances. Use de-escalation techniques and enforce protocols to manage conflicts.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities. Prepare reports as needed and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.

Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

* Clear police record that is free of felony convictions. Misdemeanors have to be approved for hire by the Director of Justice Services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
* Ability to handle the physical demands of the job to include extensive standing, walking, climbing stairs at least eight times daily per shift. Physical requirements also include using and lifting emergency equipment (fire extinguisher, AED, pepper spray, taser etc), bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, reaching overhead, continuously wearing an equipment belt, and using a breathing apparatus.
* Ability to listen for possible disturbances. Possess excellent observational skills and attention to detail and the ability to write related reports.
* Ability to work mandatory overtime and on any shift needed including weekends and holidays.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information
SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above.
Responses provided to the interview questions listed under the Supplemental Question heading of this posting will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more to be eligible for appointment. Those receiving a passing grade will be referred to the department for further evaluation.
Evaluations within the department will comprise of timed tests conducted at the Justice Center in Clayton on desktop computers. The first test will take approximately forty minutes and assess basic mathematic and grammatical skills as well as judgment as applicants are tasked with providing responses to short, scenario-based questions. The second test which also takes approximately forty minutes involves report writing in that applicants will be shown a short video (during which time they are allowed to take notes) then write a brief summary. Applicants who successfully complete these evaluations within the department will be interviewed by Justice Services staff at a later date and be subject to background screening prior to hire.
All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
