General Information:
The Facilities Management Department at James Madison University is currently seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Power Plant Operator / Mechanic. Applicants must be available to work all shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains boilers and associated auxiliary equipment, steam distribution, and condensate return lines throughout the university.
- Prepares accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of actions taken and assures documentation is properly signed and coordinated in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoots problem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty components. Tests system operation and detects component malfunctions.

Ticket checker or ticket scanner will work in the Lift mazes and greet and assist guests and validate their access every time. Assist guest getting on the lift, working outside in all weather conditions, raking and maintaining lift line mazes throughout the shift and frequent shoveling of mazes and loading areas.

As a part-time ECO II, your duties will encompass a wide array of responsibilities, including receiving, classifying, processing, and dispatching emergency service calls. For non-emergency service calls, you'll be responsible for receiving, recording, and forwarding them appropriately. Maintaining and preparing computerized and other records and files is also a key aspect of the job.

Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED and moderate (1-3 years) experience in the field of public safety communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Released on at least two specialties (call taking, law enforcement dispatching, or fire and rescue dispatching).
* Availability to work at least 32 hours per month.
* Possession of or the ability to acquire the following within the timelines specified:
* VCIN Level B Operator (within 3 months)
* DCJS Basic Communicator Certification (within 12 months)
* Powerphone Total Response Certification (within 3 months)
* CPR (within 3 months)
* Any employee of the HRECC may be called upon to work over the scheduled shift or hours, as needed.
