Job Description The City of Independence is seeking a Part-Time Firefighter to join the City's Fire Department. Duties and Responsibilities: Suppression of Fire. Prevention of Fire. Perform Emergency Medical Care. Handling of Hazardous Materials; Usually Under Hazardous Conditions. Responds to Alarms. Provides Emergency Medical Service & Transport. Performs duties as Requirements: Education: Any combination of education and experience with a minimum of high school graduation or G.E.D. supplemented by required firefighting and emergency medical paramedic training as well as some prior experience in the emergency services field.
