Network operations/network engineer job description

We're looking for a Network Operation Engineer to join us in our Denver office!

What will you be doing?
You will provide exceptional network connectivity and network operational support to Liberty Global, our employees and technical assets. Working alongside the local IT Operations Team and other network and systems engineers from across the globe, you will build and service local datacentres, corporate and remote offices, and technology development labs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure Network Resilience and Respond to Network IncidenceProvide Connectivity (Ethernet, Wireless, IPv4 and IPv6) Switching (MPLS, QinQ) Routing (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) Subscriber Management (BNG, RADIUS/AAA, QoS, BSS/OSS integration) Voice\Telecommunication ServicesSupport Core Network Services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.) Provide and maintain IP Address Management, Network Documentation and Network KnowledgebaseManage Network Equipment Configuration and FirmwareProvide Load-Balancing and DDoS CountermeasuresMonitor Networks for Performance and Stability

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree, non-traditional education, or equivalent career experience.Cisco qualifications or certifications equivalent to CCNP Enterprise, Data Center, and/or Collaboration

Knowledge & Experience:
4+ Years Cisco networking experience in a production environment2+ Years Network Operations Center, Production Service Provider Network, or Data Center Experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Follows common IT Systems, Networking and Security Best Practices.Deep understanding of networking protocols and the OSI Model.Experience testing and implementing changes in a production environment.Adept at learning new technologies, processes, and systems.Strong self-starting and time-management skills.Excellent communication and documentation skills, both written and verbal.

The base salary range is $80,000 - $110,000 gross per annum, based on the level of experience

Global Information Grid (GIG) Service Management-Operations II (GSM-O II), a Defense Group of Leidos has an opening for a Network Operations Engineer at Scott AFB, IL.

The Network Operations Engineer will support the GSM-O II program which provides sustainment, maintenance, Problem and Change management services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the Department of Defense IP networks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support for the operation, implementation, and integration of network changes and sustainment.Assist in the planning and performing of analytical research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications.Perform various complex software development tasks.Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated projects.Perform a variety of analytical tasks which include the hardware and software integration design and implementation utilizing various facility equipment.

**Shift work with potential weekends**

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 2 years of overall related experience. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, Security+ CE or other relevant and accepted certifications.Experience analyzing VLAN, routing, IP addressing and sub-netting.Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 appliances, and Splunk systems Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks using at least one of the following routing methods: BGP, ISIS, OSPF, or Static routing.Experience with either service provider or enterprise IP networks using an interface on Cisco (ESR and ASR) and/or Juniper routers.Experience with ports and protocols.Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Equally proficient in Juniper and Cisco configuration, troubleshooting, and design.Experience with Cisco IOS XR, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS codes.Pearl or other language scripting capable of running configurations tasks or to efficiently pull information from Cisco/Juniper routers IPSEC configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.MPLS configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.IPV6 configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.Security certification and/or knowledge of DDoS and other attack vectors experienced in today' networks.Crypto configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.Experience with GEM or other crypto related management systems.Layer 2/3 VPN knowledge and experience.Physical cable plant and wiring experience.Certifications with major network system vendors such as Cisco or Juniper are a strong plus.Excellent project, technical, interpersonal, presentation and incident management skills.Experience with network integration using a variety of network protocol standards.Ability to communicate orally, and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts.Familiarization of DOD regulations and directives.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00
