    The Psychiatrist-MD will initiate and provide medical care for the patients. This critical important position will provide various services to ensure overall wellness and continuity of care to those whom the agency serve. The Psychiatrist-MD will also provide an array of CORE or other MRO Medicaid services to individuals according to the most recent FY Medicaid guidelines, policies and procedures, and NBT guidelines, policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Active License by the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners. Graduate of medical or osteopathic college and a residency in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Current and active DEA Registration Current malpractice insurance Minimum of 1-year experience working with clientele suffering from MH/SA issues and their families a plus. Part-time Contract position. Between 10 and 30 hours of availability per week Duties Include: Provide patients with psychiatric and clinical services consisting of diagnostic assessment, psychotropic medication management and documentation of all psychiatric encounters. Consult with patient's family/caregiver about medical, nutritional and other health issues related to the individual's mental health or substance related issues. Assessing and monitoring the patient's response to medication(s) to determine the need to continue medication and/or to determine the need to refer the patient to a physician for a medication review. Maintain all requirements for professional licensing, certification and professional liability insurance. Generate the initial medical or clinical diagnostic examination and follow-up medication management. Agrees to sign an authorization for psychiatric and nursing services (Order of Services) provided by NBT and return within five (5) days. Sign off on all laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures. Call pharmacies for ordering prescriptions if necessary. Supervise an APRN/NP. Assist treatment team in revising goals. Evaluate and document consumer's progress towards their goals and make appropriate referrals. Provide crisis intervention, as needed. Adhere to all responsibilities identified by NBT Administrative personnel such as Clinical Director or Supervisor. Teamwork & Communication: Demonstrate cooperation. Collaborating with other professionals. Be a productive member of the staff. Communicate effectively, clearly, and appropriately and ensure client care and clinician concerns are known.
