Load correct raw material using overhead crane and/or forklift
Load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the machine
Monitor cutting performance and make appropriate operator level adjustments as required
Perform operator level maintenance as needed, daily as scheduled
Maintain proper documentation required for production and maintenance
Remove parts and skeleton from laser table after cutting is complete

Summary of Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the die changes on large and small press dies on the plant floor and for the maintenance and care of dies to ensure that they remain in proper clean working condition
* Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications while adjusting as necessary.
* Work with a variety of tools including but not limited to power saws, power shears rules and hand tools.
* Work with hoists, vises v-blocks or angle plates to lift, position and secure machined parts on a variety of surfaces.
* Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity and defects.
* Measure, mark and scribe metal to lay out machining using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes and rulers.
* Select metals to be used from a range of metals based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
* Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to cut bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
* Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, every cloths or power grinders.
* Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools dies or assemblies.
* Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.

Tooling Technician
Numerical control operator job in Sylacauga, AL
Fleetwood Metal Industries, a division Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Tooling Technician in our Sylacauga, Alabama Stamping Facility. The Tooling Technician is responsible for ensuring tooling meets process expectations. The ideal candidate will have good manual dexterity, be detail-oriented and self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:
* Compute dimensions and tolerances to set up machine tools
* Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
* Assemble/disassemble parts to test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation
* Directly work with suppliers to print, design, or build situations to ensure tool expectations are met
* Analyze manufacturing repairs and adjustments to formulate solutions in standardized situations
Minimum Qualifications:
* 5 years of related work experience
* Trade certification
* Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Ability to understand and effectively communicate oral and written instructions
* Ability to stand for long periods of time/ lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
* Able to work 3-shift model: Midnights, Days, Afternoons, and required OT
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5 years of related experience working in a manufacturing environment
