Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts

Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

Essential job duties:
Use a manufacturing drawing to generate a manufacturing plan to meet standards; i.e. select appropriate machine, tools, fixtures, and raw materials
Adjust manufacturing plans, as needed, to achieve appropriate output and quality
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, VMCs, 3-axis milling machines, and lathes
Program CNC equipment
Machine steel, aluminum, and plastic
Maintain tolerances in the range of +/- 0.002”
Troubleshoot tooling issues and develop process improvements
Work with a sense of urgency and manage workload
Promote a culture of teamwork
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Key accountabilities and duties performed by percentage (approx.):
1. Manual & CNC mill ops. - 50%
2. Manual Lathe - 15%
3. CNC Machine Set-up (Production) - 10%
4. Misc. collaboration - 10%
5. Mold repair - 10%
Machinist Job Responsibilities:
~ Safely operate and maintain manual lathe and milling machines.
~ Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
~ Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
~ Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
~ Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
~ Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
~ Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
~ Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
~ Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
~ Safely achieve OTD for production parts, multi-task and adjust priorities due to manager's request.
Requirements:
High School degree or GED
Machining apprentice or at least 2 years of equivalent work experience
Ability to read blueprints
Mathematical ability
Attention to detail
Organization skills
Teamwork
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
Robotics experience not required but a plus
