Primary Job Duties:
· Set up machines: Building tools, setting tools, and work offsets.
· Load and unload parts to keep machines running efficiently.
· Prove out programs as required to support production.
· Assist elsewhere in the shop as needed.
· Inspects parts being produced mechanically and visually by using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, gage pins, and thread gages as required for the purpose of meeting blueprint, work order engineering, or customer specifications.
· Maintain accurate timekeeping using the company shop floor system.
· Maintain a clean workstation; daily sweeping, decluttering, and replacing shop materials/ tools to appropriate designated areas.
Skills/Requirements:
· A high school diploma is required.
· 2 years of CNC Machining experience is required or applicable training/ education.
· Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
· Must have the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment under deadline pressure.
· Mechanical aptitude.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Physical requirements:

Summary of Position The CNC Operator is responsible for the timely and accurate production of metallic machined parts per the specifications and requirements of the shop traveler. The CNC Operator is also responsible for error-free processing of each order, and for completing the necessary paperwork and computer data entries associated with the CNC Production Process. Responsibilities and Duties As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the CNC Operator. Operate, maintain, clean, setup, load, and unload the CNC Router
Effectively and efficiently carry out production process:
Receive order from Production Planner
Allocate, pull, and load material
Set up machine and run job
Inspect products
Clean, label, and stage finished parts
Offload scrap or stock and return any materials as needed
Process job though the system and maintain an organized, clean work area

Experience: +2 years operating 5 axis CNC Machines
Job Duties:
Machining large parts to customer specifications.
Use precision instruments such as micrometers.
Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
Set controls to regulate machining or enter commands to retrieve & input computerized machine control media
Requirements:
2+ years experience operating Fanuc Control 3 & 5 axis CNC Machines, preferred
2+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing environment, preferred
Gantry style machining experience, preferred
Ability to read, understand and follow step by step procedures
Experience using/reading mechanical measuring tools
Familiar with 5S manufacturing procedures
Dependable, team-oriented, and good communication skills

CNC Modig Machinist
Numerical control operator job in Wichita, KS
Responsible for the set up and operation of the Modig machine cell, as well as checking first parts using precision measuring equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Configure mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
Load machines with work pieces
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces
Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; editing programs; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years of experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop
Experience with Modig machines/controls is preferred
Experience with Multi-Axis CNC Machines is a must
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to read and write English
Proficient in blue print reading
Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers
Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
Problem solving skills a must
Strong communication skills and a good eye to detail
