You will plan and perform all bench and required tool room operations including experimental work involving a good degree of skill and thorough knowledge of tool and die building practices. You would also: Build, repair and maintain all tools, dies, die components, fixtures, gauges, and special machinery throughout the facility. Work with supervision and engineering in the planning and installation of new machinery and equipment. Contribute to the design of fixtures and tooling. Troubleshoot automated tools, dies or equipment connected with any PLC controls. Assist maintenance and electricians as necessary. Perform all required duties associated with EDM setup and programming. Utilize machinery & equipment included but not limited to milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, radial arm drill presses, heat treat ovens, hardness testing equipment, arc welders, mig welders, cutting torches, assorted tool room small tools, forklift and hand truck. Be flexible, when needed, to work odd hours in or utilize tool room equipment, minimize downtime situations or when critical machinery is not functioning properly. Be able to work shifts of up to 12 hours and more than 40 hours per week as scheduled. Perform special assignments and projects as assigned. Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct The Skills and Experience you need: High School Diploma or GED 1-3 years of relevant tool and die or machinist experience required and/or completion of an apprenticeship in tool and die making or State Vocational Training Institute diploma in tool and die. Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent mental and visual effort for precise interpretation of drawings, sketches and blueprints and working with close tolerances. AutoCAD or 2D AutoCAD experience. Tig welding skills and experience with wire EDM setup and programming. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. for approximately 30% of the time. Excellent knowledge of shop mathematics. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications What we offer!
