Due to the importance of quality in our shop, all of our machinists start out with paid on the job training and mentoring prior to working alone. Our machinists work a four-day work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, medical, dental, vision and service based retirement contributions with additional 401k match. Overtime is required but flexible in how it is achieved. Additional overtime work is also available if desired. Our machinists receive shift premium for second shift work and premium pay like double time based on hours/days worked in a week. We are also currently offering a sign-on bonus of $4,000. Location: On-site in Mount Vernon, Indiana Your Day to Day as a CNC Machinist In this role, you will set up and operate CNC machine tools to perform various types of machining operations such as milling, drilling, tapping/thread milling, boring, and turning in order to meet print specifications. Additionally, you would: * Use precision measuring equipment to verify products meet customer requirements and product specifications. * Work to ±.001" tolerance and 16 microfinish when necessary. * Write/edit programs using both G and M coded controls (experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls preferred). * Troubleshoot challenges with support of on-site engineering. * Routinely read and comprehend written instructions, technical procedures, prints, sketches, and bills of material. * Work in a team environment by assisting the CNC Programmer as necessary to develop and/or test run programs. * Use advanced mathematical skills to calculate proper speed and feed rates. * Operate crane or assist with the rigging and moving of parts. * Maintain clean work area and daily housekeeping duties. * Collaborate and communicate with opposite shift through face-to-face carryover and log books. * Work with tooling application engineers to devise optimum tooling design and practices. * Work in accordance with all applicable company procedures, policies and rules. Required Qualifications: * High school equivalency with a minimum of four (4) years relevant experience. * Associate's of Applied Science degree in Machining Tool and Die or equivalent training plus two (2) years of on-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of experience. * Experience with grinders, tool setters, jacks, clamps, bolts, shims, jigs, fixtures, angle plates, rules, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gages, levels, protractors, verniers, and light hand tools. * Ability to maintain detailed records; ability to complete process documentation and other production records. * Ability to work any shift, to include nights and weekends. * U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required for this position.
