A Casual/ Part-time Faculty member for the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program has responsibility for teaching anesthesia-specific content and course management of designated coursework in the plan of study. All teaching should incorporate evidence-based practice principles into content taught. The role requires demonstrated knowledge, competence, and experience in the nurse anesthesia specialty for at least one year of providing direct patient care as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). Experience as a didactic instructor preferred. The role requires excellent organizational, written, and oral interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must complete the SON compliance requirements for faculty teaching prior to hiring. The Part-time Faculty member reports to the Program Director of the DNP Program Nurse Anesthesia Track.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program, this faculty member will be responsible for:
+ Providing classroom instruction
+ Providing course management
+ Developing and/or revising course content as needed to remain current
+ Video recording lecture content for future use
+ Holding office hours and tutoring sessions as needed
+ Participating in the admissions process for the nurse anesthesia program
+ Providing guidance for student DNP projects
+ Education: Doctoral Degree in Nursing or a related field.
+ Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical CRNA experience
+ Certification: RN and APRN/Certified registered nurse anesthetist
Instruction is both in-person and virtual. Course responsibilities include attendance at scheduled classes as well as all course-related meetings (ex. orientation, curricula construction, Blackboard/Canvas training, and clinical preparation).
Once hired you are also required to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland. Experience working with a diverse faculty, student, and staff community is advantageous.
