The Opportunity:

Saint Luke's Hospital, our Plaza location, is seeking a Nutrition Care Technician to utilize diet office software to obtain menu selections by assisting patients by room service phone line if at SLS SLH or SLELS or by hostess program at SLN in order to meet both the patient's dietary restrictions and food preferences.

Nutrition is a large part of the recovery and healing process and we are proud to be able to provide quality and nutritious meals to our patients and their families. Shift Details:

* Full-time position

* Shift hours - 6:15am to 6:45pm

* Work week - Will be scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week and one 4-hour shift.

* Rotating weekends (Every other weekend)

* Rotating holidays.

Utilize diet office software to obtain menu selections and assisting patients by room service phone line in order to meet both the patient's dietary restrictions and food preferences.

2. Performs basic clinical functions including calorie counts, nutrient analysis, and formula order verification and recipe entry.

a. Conducts calorie counts and nutrient analysis per policy.

b. Enters calorie count and nutrient analysis data into hospital approved electronic medical record

c. Enters and verifies formula order recipe into hospital approved electronic medical record.

d. Must pass Nutrition Calculations Competency test within 60 days of hire with >80% accuracy

3. Follows inventory and stock procedures for human milk, nutritional formulas, and supplies according to policy.

4. Participates in the orientation and training of new clinical nutritionists, nutrition technicians, and formula technicians related to the nutrition technician position responsibilities.

5. Participates in on-going process improvement activities of the department.

6. Assists Formula Technician including coverage for the Formula Technician position and responsibilities as required.

7. Assists Nutrition Technician II with human milk receiving and delivery as required.

8. Performs other responsibilities as required.
