Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel 8, 10H Days Days, M-F 6a-2:30p + Call & every 3rd weekend, first to float OR RN*Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS(preferred) # of Suites: 1 endoscopy suite, 2 ORs- Average # of cases per day: 5 endoscopy/day M-F, 9 cataracts every other wednesday, approx 3 scheduled c-sections/month, 1-2 podiatry cases every Monday- Common Cases: Endoscopy, C-Sections, D&Cs, Cataract Extractions, Podiatry, Resterilization of Surgical Instruments- Experience or 'Must have' skills: endoscopy and c-section experience preferred, but not required, scrub or willingness to learn to scrub required- How many years exp required: 2 preferred, but not required- Previous travel exp required: preferred, but not required- Is scrubbing required for RNs: willingness to learn preferred, but not required - Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes - working OR supervisor and also a 24/7 house nurse coordinator- Does the charge nurse take an assignment: the OR supervisor shares the workload with the scheduled staff- OR techs: 1 CST, but RN's have cross trained to scrub/resterilize and perform all OR tech roles- EMR: Meditech 6- Shifts & Scheduling: Monday-Friday 6a-2:30p with 1 in 3 on call after hours- Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling: Block scheduling- Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1-2 nights of call required during the week- About Voca Healthcare As a Voca Traveler, you will gain new clinical skills, visit amazing places and meet awesome healthcare professionals.
