Position Summary:
The OccupationalTherapist evaluates, establishes treatment plans, and administers a medically prescribed occupational therapy program in accordance with professional guidelines as described by the American Occupational Therapy Association. The OccupationalTherapist/Certified Hand Therapist provides comprehensive evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans, and delivers evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support optimal patient recovery and function. This role is part of an integrated, high-performing ortho rehab team which includes Certified Hand Therapists, developing occupationaltherapists, and orthopaedic surgeons who are fellowship trained in upper extremities specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
What You'll Do:
Perform comprehensive upper extremity evaluations, including: Hand, wrist, elbow, which may include shoulder assessments, Strength, range of motion, edema, sensation, dexterity, pain, and functional mobility testing.
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to diagnosis, surgical procedures, and functional needs.
Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions and adjust plans based on patient progress
Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive equipment, and functional strategies
Custom Splinting & Orthotic Management
Fabricate custom orthoses for post-surgical protection, immobilization, mobilization, and functional support.
Fit, adjust, and repair custom or prefabricated splints.
Provide patient instruction regarding wear schedule, precautions, and hygiene.
Document evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in accordance with department policy
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and payors to coordinate care
Participate in mentoring, student instruction, and professional development opportunities
Support departmental operations, productivity standards, and quality improvement initiatives

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Monarch School's Supervisory OccupationalTherapist will supervise, evaluate, make recommendations in hiring, disciplinary and discharge process of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supervise, assign and responsibly direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

Complete evaluations for the purpose of the IEP/ISP and attend and present at the meetings.

Collect data electronically and through daily notes.
Ensure your department supervisor reads and provides feedback to the documents prior to it being placed in official document.
As necessary, utilize Safety Care procedures, including at a minimum, make use of the necessary Two-Person Stability Hold.
Develop sensory recommendations and interventions to be utilized throughout the student's day.
Provide feedback, develop and implement supports as it relates to occupational therapy to the family on various issues that are discussed.
Provide consultation and training to interdisciplinary team regarding Occupational Therapy needs of children with autism.
Provide in-class observation and consultation of Monarch School students.
Provide direct therapy to children with autism on a one-to-one and small group basis.
Attend and participate in occupational therapy meetings.
Educate self on research and new treatment techniques within occupational therapy field on ongoing basis.
Contribute and support Occupational therapy team in extra projects, such as, presenting at conferences, plan field day, educate interdisciplinary team members on the importance of sensory supports and communicate with team and families.
