ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operate hand trucks, overhead cranes, combi-lifts, and forklifts to move materials between locations. Load and unload trucks according to shipping requirements and job traveler specifications. Stage raw materials, racks, processed bars, and panels in production work areas. Stack, wrap, label, and bundle grating panels and inventory items per shipping and safety standards. Follow department-specific systems and processes to ensure proper material staging, documentation, and locations. Accurately verify piece counts, material types, and inventory codes after transport or storage. Enter transactions and updates in Epicor to maintain material accuracy and flow. Apply intermediate knowledge of RF scanning, electronic job tracking tools, and material classification systems unique to each department. Participate in facility rearrangement and maintenance efforts by moving work centers or heavy equipment using industrial machinery. Communicate with truck drivers to support smooth delivery and pickup logistics. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following housekeeping procedures and disposing of scrap materials. Participate in continuous training and assist in onboarding or mentoring of new material handlers. Work collaboratively across shifts and departments to meet production needs. Meet or exceed established productivity and quality standards that support departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring efficient and accurate job performance. Consistently apply safe work practices in accordance with company policies to promote a zero lost time environment and maintain a safe workplace. Panel Handling Specific Tasks Service finished panel blanks from Welder to WIP storage areas. Perform ERP transactions using Epicor, including: Read and interpret travelers and cut sheets. Execute general inventory tasks such as WIP queue processing and transfers. Operate cranes and Combi lift trucks under moderate supervision. Shipping Specific Tasks Load trucks and package material in Post Galv. Identify and organize by bar size and material type. Use iAuditor for quality or compliance checks. Submit required post-shipping paperwork to appropriate departments. Receiving Specific Tasks Unload trucks upon receipt using forklifts, combi-lift, or crane. Verify quantities received against purchase orders in Epicor. Perform accurate and timely inventory transactions in Epicor. Sign off on BOL (Bill of Lading) and delivery receipts. Load trucks for outside services using forklifts, combi-lift, or crane. Handle basic UPS parcel shipping, including preparing and shipping orders. Coil Field Specific Tasks Handle master and slit coils using heavy-duty overhead cranes to service both the slitter and bar lines under supervision. Perform ERP transactions to maintain coil inventory accuracy. Fab Line Specific Tasks Read and interpret drawings. Operate Iron Worker, Panier Tag machine, and Americor Roller to drawings specifications efficiently. Operate hand powered machines as needed. EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
