Participates with post anesthesia care unit personnel in a patient safety oriented interface when patients are transferred from the surgery suite. Monitors patients vital signs, such as blood pressure and observes any significant physical changes; informs anesthesiologist and/or surgeon of patients condition and takes any necessary remedial action such as infant resuscitation when necessary. Mixes solutions to required concentrations, such as pentothal, succinylcholine, vaso-active drugs etc.
Keeps current accurate and complete record of procedures performed and patients conditions immediately prior to the administration of anesthesia according to established standards.

Essential Functions
Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of primarily psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient.

Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response.

As an Optometrist in our community health clinic, you will deliver routine and medical eye exams, detect and manage ocular conditions, and support long-term vision health. Your work directly improves quality of life by helping patients see clearly, stay employed, and maintain independence.
You will collaborate closely with primary care providers and care coordinators to ensure culturally responsive, whole-person care for individuals and families in Oakland's BIPOC community.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye exams for adults and children
Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions and vision disorders
Prescribe corrective lenses and provide vision treatment plans
Identify systemic health issues with ocular indicators and refer as needed
Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record
Educate patients on eye health, prevention, and treatment options
Coordinate care with medical, behavioral health, and specialty teams
Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited program
Active California Optometry license in good standing
Experience in primary care, community health, or safety-net settings preferred
Comfort working with diverse patient populations
Ability to manage a steady patient schedule in a clinic environment

Responsibilities
Diagnose mental health disorders by conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
Create personalized treatment plans for patients that may involve a combination of psychotherapy, medications, interventional therapies, and lifestyle modifications.
Deliver and supervise interventional treatments including TMS, Esketamine (Spravato), and Ketamine Infusion Therapy and work closely with an experienced clinical leadership team that has been applying innovative treatment protocols for years supported by positive patient outcome data.
Monitor the effects of interventional treatment to assess a patient's response, adjust treatment parameters when applicable, and determine the need for changes to the overall treatment strategy.
Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on the patient's response to various therapeutic options.
Educate patients and their families about the nature of their mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies to manage symptoms.
Manage crises that may arise in their patients' mental health.
Coordinate patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and therapists.
Document and maintain updated medical records, including diagnosis, treatment plans, progress notes, medications prescribed, and other relevant patient information.
Analyze patient outcome data to contribute to research and advance our understanding of and effectiveness of interventional treatments.
