Oracle application developer job description

The Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems utilizing all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle. He/she performs advanced systems analysis and business systems design functions related to systems development and installations. He/she works under the general direction of the Senior Manager of Applications and/or an assigned project manager.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:


Performs analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation phases for new development projects, application software changes, and version upgrades Provides production system support services including investigation of processing errors and system problems Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff and convey complex ideas both verbally and in written form Provides leadership and mentoring of internal programming teams Maintains programming skills and current knowledge of application development technology as related to specific technical project assignments Ensure adherence to department standards, methods and policies
Analysis/Decision Making:

Ability to analyze and make sound decisions is essential to this role. Follows company procedures and guidelines to perform most job functions. Notifies manager of any issues that might impact productivity, and other established goals and standards.


Qualifications:

Education: BS/BA and/or 4 year technical degree preferably in computer programming or related computer field or equivalent experience is required
Experience: Minimum 8 years of systems programming experience


Functional/Technical Knowledge:



An understanding of Systems Integration concepts and experience utilizing them An advanced understanding of computer concepts Advanced proficiency in relationship database concepts and query applications coding (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Sequel, etc.) Advanced proficiency with application development tools/suites (e.g. Oracle sequel developer, Sequel Server Management Studio) Advance proficiency with database reporting writing tools (e.g. SQR, SSRS) Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle Motivated self-starter with creative thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities in a fast paced environment

Occasional overnight travel as needed. Overtime as needed.

+ The primary responsibilities of this position will include application development, maintenance, and support of the Benefit Configurator suite of applications.
Requirements

+ Top Three Skills/Experience

+ 7+ years of IT support experience with JAVA programming language and JEE patterns.

+ 5+ years of IT support experience and working knowledge of ORACLE.

+ 5+ years of experience of Spring REST, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, SOAP services, Hibernate

+ 5+ years of experience in web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Java/JEE/JSF/JSP) a must.

+ 3+ years of experience in Angular, ReactJS , Bootstrap JS etc. (Hands on experience working on Responsive UI a must)

+ 2+ years of experience in Angular a must.

+ 1+ year of experience in REST and Microservices

+ Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Rest, SOAP, HTTP and JSON

+ Experience designing, developing, and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies.

+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements and develop alternate solutions.

+ As broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards.

+ Works on major projects as a team member, sometimes as a project leader.

+ Provides technical guidance in advanced programming techniques and application design required.

+ Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as Computer Science or Business Systems.

+ Master degree preferred in a related field such Computer Science or Business Systems.

+ Certifications - JAVA, Oracle, or Project Related

Preferred Skills/Experience (No more than 4-5 total):

+ Perform thorough analysis and makes recommendations in areas that support IT process and software development life cycle.

+ Should possess good communication skills and solid knowledge on software delivery lifecycle of IT projects & applications.

+ Experience and understanding of health insurance industry.

* Work with the team to implement, maintain, and enhance its enterprise-level data architecture using Oracle 19

* Work as part of a team comprised of a project manager, business analysts, and other members of the technical staff to use test-driven development techniques to develop and implement DBA processes to support sequencing and analysis efforts

* Work with Business Analysts to understand requirements; Design and develop sustainable data models to support those requirements; Create technical design documents; React to and correct day-to-day operational errors

* 8 years of experience working as an Oracle Apps DBA preferably in technical environment involving 10 TB of data

* 8 years of experience in Oracle database and SQL administration in the areas of backup/recovery, upgrades/patches, performance tuning, and meta management

* 3 years of data modeling experience using Erwin data modeling tool

* 3 years of extensive PL/SQL coding experience

* Good RDS experience for SQL and Oracle

* Provisioning and management of RDS instances in AWS (Oracle, SQL servers)

* Good understanding of AWS cloud services (S3, security groups and EC2)

* Analytical skills to gather and establish data requirements based on analysis of current systems, client operations and applications

* Communication skills to work with client, business users and team members

* Work independently once guidance and goals are provided and be a team player

* Ability to apply patches and clone environments is required
