Position Overview
Operates an electric pallet jack and/or forklift to select products from warehouse pick locations using Vocollect (voice command) system. The creation of the Chicago Terminal Produce Market provided a central selling location for years. As the restaurant industry evolved, so did Testa Produce. In 2011, Testa expanded yet again and moved into its new home: a 91,300 square foot facility to accommodate an ever-growing list of restaurant, hotel and food service customers.
Essential Functions:
Perform general physical activities in a warehouse, including loading, unloading, selecting, sorting, and moving products and materials manually
Safely operate the forklift to move products throughout the facility including pulling and stocking of product
Utilize powered industrial trucks, including forklifts (including stand-up) and pallet rider jacks to transfer merchandise from one location to another
Transport filled and completed orders to the designated shipping assembly areas for further processing
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency in the warehouse
Select customer orders accurately and efficiently using the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Work closely with the Dispatch/Warehouse team to ensure the correct handling of picked orders
Perform quality checks to ensure the accuracy of picked orders and report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor
Comply with all applicable OSHA and Food Safety regulations
Competencies

As an Order Picker/Transit Driver you will
Monitor emails and the website for customer orders; pick orders from Warehouse upon receipt utilizing an RF Scanner
Load products into carts, move carts into Transit/cargo van and safely drive Transit/cargo van to deliver products to their requested location
Communicate with various departments to coordinate the delivery of various documents and products for internal purposes
Operate various material handling equipment to pick and move products
Unloading bulk returns & entering returns into the database
Looking over returns & either cleaning them or disposing of the damaged product
Work a varied schedule & work overtime as business demands including extended hours and/or weekends
Train employees on different functions of the work area to ensure they can perform the tasks properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
Follow company safety rules and keep designated work area in a clean and orderly condition
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
2 years of steady professional driving experience
At least 6 months of experience working in a warehouse
High School diploma or equivalent
21 years or older
A clean driving record with a valid driver's license
Have great attendance and punctuality
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude
Fluent in English
