ABOUT THE POSITION:
Responsible for operating machines to ensure that quality standards are consistently met, the line meets schedule attainment and line efficiency standards, the mechanical operations run smoothly, and the line workers are directed properly. Responsible for Actively engaging in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities including daily checks, lubrication, cleaning, and inspection tasks to ensure maximum machine reliability.
SCHEDULE: 3rd Shift - Sunday - Thursday with overtime as required based on business needs.
WAGE: Hourly range for this position is $28.00 per hour, with a starting range of $28.00 per hour for 3rd shift, plus $1.00 per hour for shift differential for working 3rd shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May perform one or all of the following job functions:
Ensure meat, dates, tape, labels, and other supplies are correct according to product specifications.
Ensure efficient packaging by setting up workstations correctly and effectively.
Demonstrate leadership by directing employees to assist others where needed on other lines or rework when machines are down.
Encourage team to be ready to start on time in the morning, after breaks and lunch.
Perform product quality and QA checks to eliminate or reduce product waste or rework, these may include but are not limited to hourly weight or count checks, oxygen level tests, metal detection, or blade inspection.
Maximize quality and efficiency by adjusting machines registration, sealing temperature, speed, gas levels, and slicing width.
Maintain current records by filling out required paperwork correctly and completely throughout the run.
Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a lead or supervisor.
Knows how to operate, read, and set adjustments on the automated computer screens.
Manage machine change over including sanitizing machine for species or allergen changes.
Run labels according to product specifications.
Ensure all persons on the processing/packaging machines and crew are properly trained, and the time worked is properly recorded.
Ensure proper operation of machines by troubleshooting and making minor adjustments and make certain that machinery is in good repair.
Maintain production equipment ensuring that quality and sanitation standards are met.
Follow through with processing/packaging personnel and give feedback on performance (speed, floor waste, quality control, etc.)
Assist lead and/or supervisor by training all new personnel, monitoring performance and ensuring that procedures are followed.
Maintain product integrity throughout the area of responsibility, checking product for proper materials, specifications, labeling, etc. Performs quality checks on product to ensure optimum quality.
Perform raw material audits and check weights.
Ensure proper set up, clean up and smooth operation of the machinery and area of operation.
Ensure that proper safety and sanitation measures are followed by instructing employees on proper company procedures and then monitoring personnel to make sure all procedures are being followed.
Utilize team members efficiently during machine downtime by directing personnel to work on special projects or in other departments. If nothing is available, the machine operator will have crew report to the department lead.
Inform Management of any Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
Maintain accountability to Oberto Brands Food Safety and Quality Principles.
Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
Actively engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities including daily checks, lubrication, cleaning, and inspection tasks to ensure maximum machine reliability.
Back-up: Operator 1 is back-up for Operator Trainee.
Back-up: Operator 1 is backed up by Operator 2, 3.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School or equivalent preferred
Lock-Out Tag-Out Certified (OJT)
6 months' manufacturing experience is preferred.
Previous machine operator experiences preferred.
Pallet jack experience preferred.
Familiarity with HACCP (OJT)
SQF preferred.
Other Food Safety, Quality, Technical, and Regulatory Training as needs determine appropriate.
Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT).
Understanding and compliance with all personal safety rules (OJT).
Position requires an understanding of food safety, quality, and SQF fundamentals provided through annual in-house and on the job training.
Safely and proactively operate, troubleshoot, and optimize Packaging Machines and support equipment.

Follow contamination prevention and machine cleaning procedures.
Become proficient in facility specific packaging equipment operations and troubleshooting. Use troubleshooting to correct downtime issues.
Communicate with maintenance on machine performance issues, submit work requests for corrective maintenance.
Cross training and perform duties of other team members as needed.
Assist with equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and rebuilds as needed.
Operate, changeover, clean, troubleshoot, and complete basic maintenance according to company standards on production equipment.
Record the following: preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics.
Communicate effectively when issues arise that prevent operating to company standards/ procedures.
Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, and downtime.
Perform mathematical calculations as needed.
Ensure quality products are sent to customers by completing hourly quality checks.
Inspect raw materials against quality standards before loading them.
Interact with team members from various departments (Quality Assurance, Maintenance, etc.) to maximize output and efficiency.
Attend shift, team, and plant meetings during their scheduled times.
Measure and continuously improve the line operation as a team and with other technicians.
Crosstrain in other areas to support operations during downtimes.
Maintain your workstation in an organized and clean manner, ensuring safety and good manufacturing practices.
Ability to diagnose root cause of equipment failures and perform first level mechanical interventions before escalating to Maintenance.
Participate in Kaizen/Continuous Improvement efforts to drive uptime, efficiency, and waste reduction.

Production Operator (Nights) This position is responsible for daily operations of the production floor; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.
Essential Functions
Responsible for daily activities of the production line(s), ensuring product adheres to Niagara's standard of safety, quality, and throughput.
Accurately completes applicable quality and production reports hourly. Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Correctly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members and shift leadership.
Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Abides by Niagara's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards at all times.
Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of production and additional areas assigned by plant leadership.
Maintains appropriate level of raw materials as required, to ensure production lines incur minimal downtime.
Demonstrates the aptitude and skill to work in all assigned areas of production; troubleshoots minor production line issues and performs relief duties when required.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule or schedule as dictated by production demand.

This role will report to our Head of Production and Quality, and the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in operating all aspects of the packaging line, including setup, troubleshooting, and off-packing packaged beer, along with keg cleaning, keg filling, and pasteurizing cans. Training will be provided for all aspects of the position. A basic understanding of beer and the brewing process is desired. Packagingoperators have one primary goal: to assist with the smooth packaging of our beer. The successful applicant will be a member of the brewery operations team and work closely with the other brewing and packaging team members.

Reuben's Brews is a family brewery that opened in 2012. We brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. We know making the extra effort is worth it. We are the most decorated brewery in Washington, have two brewhouses, two tasting rooms, and two private event spaces, and we distribute our beer predominantly in the Pacific Northwest. In 2024 we brewed 26,000 BBLs.
The role:
Duties will include, but aren't necessarily limited to the following.
Operating the packaging line packaging cans and bottles
Prepping tanks for packaging or kegging
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the brewery
Help with training peers on tasks when necessary. Helping out throughout all aspects of production when needed
Accurately recording data
Moving supplies and staging materials throughout the day
Keg washing and filling
Operating batch pasteurizers

Responsible for operating machines to ensure that quality standards are consistently met, the line meets schedule attainment and line efficiency standards, the mechanical operations run smoothly, and the line workers are directed properly. Responsible for Actively engaging in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities including daily checks, lubrication, cleaning, and inspection tasks to ensure maximum machine reliability.

WAGE: Hourly range for this position is $28.00 per hour, with a starting range of $28.00 per hour for 3
rd
shift, plus $1.00 per hour for shift differential for working 3
rd
shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May perform one or all of the following job functions:
Ensure meat, dates, tape, labels, and other supplies are correct according to product specifications.
Ensure efficient packaging by setting up workstations correctly and effectively.
Demonstrate leadership by directing employees to assist others where needed on other lines or rework when machines are down.
Encourage team to be ready to start on time in the morning, after breaks and lunch.
Perform product quality and QA checks to eliminate or reduce product waste or rework, these may include but are not limited to hourly weight or count checks, oxygen level tests, metal detection, or blade inspection.
Maximize quality and efficiency by adjusting machines registration, sealing temperature, speed, gas levels, and slicing width.
Maintain current records by filling out required paperwork correctly and completely throughout the run.
Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a lead or supervisor.
Knows how to operate, read, and set adjustments on the automated computer screens.
Manage machine change over including sanitizing machine for species or allergen changes.
Run labels according to product specifications.
Ensure all persons on the processing/packaging machines and crew are properly trained, and the time worked is properly recorded.
Ensure proper operation of machines by troubleshooting and making minor adjustments and make certain that machinery is in good repair.
Maintain production equipment ensuring that quality and sanitation standards are met.
Follow through with processing/packaging personnel and give feedback on performance (speed, floor waste, quality control, etc.)
Assist lead and/or supervisor by training all new personnel, monitoring performance and ensuring that procedures are followed.
Maintain product integrity throughout the area of responsibility, checking product for proper materials, specifications, labeling, etc. Performs quality checks on product to ensure optimum quality.
Perform raw material audits and check weights.
Ensure proper set up, clean up and smooth operation of the machinery and area of operation.
Ensure that proper safety and sanitation measures are followed by instructing employees on proper company procedures and then monitoring personnel to make sure all procedures are being followed.
Utilize team members efficiently during machine downtime by directing personnel to work on special projects or in other departments. If nothing is available, the machine operator will have crew report to the department lead.
Inform Management of any Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
Maintain accountability to Oberto Brands Food Safety and Quality Principles.
Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
Actively engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities including daily checks, lubrication, cleaning, and inspection tasks to ensure maximum machine reliability.
Back-up: Operator 1 is back-up for Operator Trainee.
Back-up: Operator 1 is backed up by Operator 2, 3.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School or equivalent preferred
Lock-Out Tag-Out Certified (OJT)
6 months' manufacturing experience is preferred.
Previous machine operator experiences preferred.
Pallet jack experience preferred.
Familiarity with HACCP (OJT)
SQF preferred.
Other Food Safety, Quality, Technical, and Regulatory Training as needs determine appropriate.
Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT).
Understanding and compliance with all personal safety rules (OJT).
Position requires an understanding of food safety, quality, and SQF fundamentals provided through annual in-house and on the job training.
Safely and proactively operate, troubleshoot, and optimize Packaging Machines and support equipment.
Focus on safe work practices and high quality while executing duties with a sense of urgency.
Adhere to safe work practices, good manufacturing practices, and participate in safe behavior observation programs.
Meet performance targets for Packaging.
Ensure proper setup of Packaging Machines.
Monitor and adjust equipment to optimize packaging quality and correct defects, including the completion of hourly quality checks.
Routinely communicate with up/down stream team members to maximize line performance.
Execute machine changeovers.
Maintain machine adjustment logs.
Comply with sanitation standards, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
(GMPs) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow contamination prevention and machine cleaning procedures.
Become proficient in facility specific packaging equipment operations and troubleshooting. Use troubleshooting to correct downtime issues.
Communicate with maintenance on machine performance issues, submit work requests for corrective maintenance.
Cross training and perform duties of other team members as needed.
Assist with equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and rebuilds as needed.
Operate, changeover, clean, troubleshoot, and complete basic maintenance according to company standards on production equipment.
Record the following: preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics.
Communicate effectively when issues arise that prevent operating to company standards/ procedures.
Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, and downtime.
Perform mathematical calculations as needed.
Ensure quality products are sent to customers by completing hourly quality checks.
Inspect raw materials against quality standards before loading them.
Interact with team members from various departments (Quality Assurance, Maintenance, etc.) to maximize output and efficiency.
Attend shift, team, and plant meetings during their scheduled times.
Measure and continuously improve the line operation as a team and with other technicians.
Crosstrain in other areas to support operations during downtimes.
Maintain your workstation in an organized and clean manner, ensuring safety and good manufacturing practices.
Ability to diagnose root cause of equipment failures and perform first level mechanical interventions before escalating to Maintenance.
Participate in Kaizen/Continuous Improvement efforts to drive uptime, efficiency, and waste reduction.
