This position includes significant duties such as: • Ensure all scheduled products are manufactured according to company procedures and cGMP's to achieve customer satisfaction and conformance to company schedule/ deadlines. • Understands the concepts of aseptic technique to operate inside Class 1,000 and Class 100 cleanroom areas as well as other controlled areas. • Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products. • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures needed. • Completes batch records in an accurate and timely manner following each day's production. • Formulates, finishes, manufactures and fills all products produced at the plant with minimal guidance. • Monitors equipment and completes basic equipment maintenance and cleaning activities. • Utilizes and records readings from laboratory and manufacturing equipment. • Closely follows work instructions provided in writing or verbally by supervisor/plant leadership. • Moves stacks of crates from freezer to packaging area with hand truck/dolly to complete work. • Inspects and packages product by checking for damaged bottles, labels and/or heat shrinks that do not meet established standards. • Labels, bags, boxes and palletizers finished product in accordance with plant deadlines. • Provide input to new, and revising existing, SOPs to ensure procedures are accurate, up to date and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices. • Responsible for reporting quality and safety issues to immediate supervisor. • Ensure personal training documentation is up to date and aid in the training of others as needed. • Maintain organization and cleanliness of production areas. • Special assignments and other responsibilities as required. • Use of cleaning products in an industrial environment. • Familiarity with GDP (Good Documentation Practices). To make independent adjustments and corrections to the piece of equipment to which the operator is assigned, ensuring efficient operation of that particular piece of equipment. Directs the production workers assigned to that particular piece of equipment being utilized, to ensure efficient operation in completing the assigned tasks. Inspects all production to ensure compliance with specifications for that particular package. Completes all paperwork which is required, including start-up checklists, weight log sheets, and warehouse transfers. Perform changeovers on the variety of packaging equipment as directed by the supervisor or production planner. The use and understanding of written production schedules and instruction manuals, in English, may be required. Perform cursory preventative maintenance duties on the piece of equipment to which they are assigned. This may involve the use of written manuals, in English. May be assigned to calculate, compile, and report production volumes as directed by the packaging supervisor. Performs all duties assigned within the packaging section including the packing of cases or caddies, palletizing cases, gathering, mixing, and feeding of product to the packaging equipment, marking cases or cartons, inspection of product, and assembly of cartons or cases. Performs the safe operation of a manual or powered pallet jack, also will be required to operate power lift equipment including specialized (narrow-aisle) equipment including but not limited to Forklifts. Require 6-12 months minimum driving experience. Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition. The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned. Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. Wages, hours, and working conditions are outlined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Jelly Belly Candy Company and Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grainmillers International Union, AFL-CIO, Local #125.
