ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrates competency in all basic and advanced folds; straight line, auto bottom, internals and inner partitions.
Locates items for machines based on gluing schedule for machines.
Reviews job requirements and specifications, prepares paperwork for production accountability and daily time sheets.
Checks OK samples for gluing requirements.
Prepares make-ready, feeder, pre-fold, final fold and delivery.
Sets up glue system, bar code scanners and pack station.
Operates folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Act responsibly at all times to insure the health, safety, and well-being of self, co-workers, visitors, neighbors, and property.
This includes compliance with all RICCA CHEMICAL COMPANY safety policies and procedures, and a working knowledge of government regulations, particularly hazardous material regulations.
Minimize packaging problems such as the use of wrong labels, wrong bottles, wrong cleaning procedures, wrong siphons or hoses, excessive number of loose caps, wrong caps, filling orders with incorrect product sizes or quantities, and putting stock away incorrectly.
Place labels on properly while placing proper DOT hazardous labels on cases or containers.
Ensure every container is in an order, is labeled properly. Labels are placed straight and correctly on containers and cases.
Must properly fill containers with the proper and consistent volume.
Affix correct caps and seals are used. Caps are tightened properly and no leakers due to loose caps.
Use proper equipment is used, siphons, hoses, pumps, carts, etc.
Follows procedures for approved inventory rotation, and order filling are used.
Paperwork is correctly and completely filled out.
Follows instructions and procedures, both packaging and safety, are followed.
Uses correct equipment cleaning procedures are followed to avoid cross-contamination of batches of product due to improper cleaning of product or equipment.
Maintain the Production Floor and equipment using regular intervals of preventative maintenance.

About the Role:
The Machine Operator role at our Northlake, TX location will add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
* Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjust for optimal run.
* Performs adjustments or repairs, such as opening valves, changing formers and sealing jaw knives, setting guides, temperature controls, nitrogen/ oxygen fill ratios, and other machine related functions.
* Inspects and records all quality checks in computer dbase and aligns machine packaging output to comply with quality specifications on an order-by-order basis.
* Ensures all aspects of quality standard are met by performing all necessary quality checks.

Production Operator (Line 4) Performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of production processes and responsible for day to day operations associated with the production lines.
Essential Functions
Responsible for overall maintaining of a production line, including starting and stopping of all equipment (palletizers, carton makers, carton sealers, drop packers, injection, etc.) as applicable.

Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards; accurately filling out hourly inspection sheets based on overall production quality. Responsible for recognizing and reporting all quality defects immediately.
Ability to work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision; perform relief duties when required
Ability to troubleshoot minor production equipment issues in all areas and collaborate with maintenance team as necessary.
Understanding of computer systems such as Oracle/MES or current order management system

In our organization, the Machine Operator I has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under close supervision, prepares and operates machines to process/produce a high quality product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares mixing line for production by checking temperature and equipment for safety.
Makes certain all materials for production are available; restocks warehouse
Weighs material in preparation to compound/mix
Operates various rubber mixing or processing machinery
Inspects work
Repairs defective batches under direction of supervisor
Cleans equipment and maintains good housekeeping throughout the building
Completes manufacturing paperwork
Assists with maintenance when necessary
Loads and unloads rubber from skids
Follows safety protocols.
Assists in packaging for shipment
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Entry level position
Manufacturing experience a plus
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good problem solving skills
Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)
Obtain and maintain forklift certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged standing
Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, climbing stairs, etc.
Lifting, pulling and carrying up to 50 pounds. Over 50 pounds with assistance
Work in the heat in the summer and cold in the winter
