The Packaging Associate is an entry-level position and is responsible for fully support and contributing to the efforts of the packaging team as it executes the daily packaging needs and goals. This includes working on all facets of packaging as needed; canning, kegging and warehousing. This position will primarily be based at the Hardywood West Creek facility with potential shifts and duties at the Hardywood Richmond facility. This position has an opportunity to grow into a Packaging Specialist I, II and III, gradually becoming more involved in the operation of the canning line, kegging equipment and process and warehousing. Job Title: Machine Operator Helper - 1st and 2nd shifts available Location: South Chesterfield, VA What we're looking for: We are looking for a entry level Machine Operator Helper who will be responsible for fabricating products using proper tools and machines. Fabricates various types of products and components, meeting defined production schedules. Perform basic and advanced operator preventative maintenance tasks. Operate and/or use related machinery, equipment, and tools necessary to complete assembly / parts fabrication to specifications, which include hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), drills, presses, punches, saws, bending machines, tape measure, hand tools, etc. This role would include any required professional certification (e.g. welder), higher level programming skills (e.g. CNC equipment) and/or ability to make complex tooling/process adjustments. What you'll be responsible for in this role: Fabricate assemblies / parts for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards. Set-up, and lay out work using fixtures and guides to fabricate parts and assemblies. Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes. Review finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs. Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required. Reject defective parts and material according to policy. Ensure safe, careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment. Participate in and attend cross functional meetings as required. Complex trouble shooting. Participate in cross training of team members---train and be trained What are the basic qualifications? Schedule: 7PM - 7AM , 7AM-7PM Payrate: $16-$17/hr Title: Machine Operator Reports To: Manufacturing Manager Job Purpose: To check product quality, pack finished envelopes in cartons, and perform other support procedures of the envelope manufacturing process Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Check work of previous shift for quality & correctness and notify supervisor of any issues. Feed envelope blanks into machine using proper fanning techniques and maintaining proper level of blanks. Check the quality of the finished envelopes throughout the job by following company quality control procedures and notify adjusters of any issues. Assemble cartons for packing of envelopes. Follow company procedures for filling out labels and label the cartons. Pack finished envelopes into cartons and follow procedures for stacking on skids. Assist machine adjusters with clearing jams, troubleshooting, maintenance, and job setup. Keep envelope folding machine and area around machine neat & clean. Fill out production paperwork and pull samples as directed. Follow company procedures for machine down time. Communicate with outgoing shift and incoming shift regarding equipment status, job status, and any other relevant information. Duties include standing for most of the shift, repetitive hand & wrist motions, reaching with hands and arms, regular lifting of up to 25 pounds, and possibly working overtime. Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time. Execute the responsibilities of this position following company safety policies and company procedures.
