The Machine Operator will operate and adjust various pieces of equipment to perform any combination of machinery operations. Operators in this classification are required to read part prints, specifications, and sketches. They are also required to read operation sheets and method sheets. Operators are responsible for operating manual equipment such as drill press, auto tapper, rotary deburring, chamfering, etc., as well as other equipment. Other responsibilities include maintaining product quality as per print, operations sheet and/or methods sheet by way of cutting tool adjustments, off set adjustments and/or secondary tooling/fixturing adjustments after being approved by Quality Control. The packaging technician follows the lead of Packaging supervisors and the Packaging Manager and ensures safe and efficient operation of the equipment under their responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and production and facility equipment functionality and reliability (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems) Preventative maintenance, implementation of safety procedures, and inventory supplies and records maintenance Maintaining and repairing industrial equipment for optimal performance and safety Conduct preventive maintenance and replace parts or components as needed Cross-departmental collaboration with engineering and production to achieve process improvement and ensure equipment reliability Maintain accurate equipment performance and maintenance records Respond with urgency to emergency repair requests Assist with equipment and systems installations Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies and stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical technology Qualifications: 3-5 years troubleshooting and industrial equipment repair/systems experience High level of knowledge pertaining to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and machinery Previous experience as an industrial maintenance technician or similar role Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics and CAD Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods Must be comfortable working under changing environmental conditions, including noise and temperature variations Knowledge of testing equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and other field equipment Basic plc knowledge including ability to read plc signals and warning indicators, and have basic operational understanding of a 3D printer Knowledge of and experience working with motors, vfd's, and performing robot maintenance Minimum High school or Trade School education; Associates in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a plus Experience with cartoning and filling equipment, welding/fabrication, and use of own tools are a plus Sheffield Pharmaceuticals is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. Job Description Packaging Technician Reports to: Production Manager Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM Starting Pay: $17/hour PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Package and label dried flower, fill pre-rolls, portion concentrates, and package oils according to predetermined quotas and work orders. Operate sophisticated packaging equipment for sorting and packaging dried cannabis flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, and oils. Set up, operate, change over, break down, and sanitize packaging equipment. Report to the Packaging Manager and collaborate with the team to achieve daily packaging work order goals. Coordinate batch inventory and packaging materials. Case pack units for storage and shipment. Track and record each step of the packaging process, validating with equipment readings for consistency. Attend to any units rejected by the packaging equipment. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or deviations from standard operating procedures. Inspect and report any inconsistencies or issues with package labels. Record all activities throughout assigned work orders and update inventory logs. Audit labels to ensure proper format and compliance with state regulations. Operate equipment to print and apply labels to packages. Use a scale to accurately weigh products and track numbers. Maintain compliance with state regulations, company policies, and SOPs. Keep workstations clean and safe. Adhere to a full-time schedule with a consistent work ethic. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in cannabis packaging or related field preferred. Ability to operate and troubleshoot sophisticated packaging equipment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment and meet daily quotas. Familiarity with state regulations governing cannabis packaging. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift/move heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
