What to Expect The Tesla Collision Repair Program is looking for a Collision Shop Paint Prepper to work on one of the most progressive vehicle brands in the world. This position will involve supporting the Tesla Collision Repair Program in all aspects.
What You'll Do
* Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters
* Assist painter in pre-paint blending needs
* Work with paint team to assist in keeping vehicle on track for scheduled delivery time
* Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting
* Buff and wax the finished paintwork
* Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties
* Detail vehicles ready for delivery to customers
What You'll Bring
* Prior experience in vehicle paint process
* Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet or humid conditions
* Ability to receive directions and work well with others
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* I-CAR certifications preferred
* Valid driver's license preferred

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $34.04/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. As Paint Technician, each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. You will need to have a basic to advanced knowledge of aircraft refinishing, Understanding PDS Sheets and comply with paint procedures and techniques.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
Able to understand and comprehend PDS Sheets, mix ratios for all materials that will be used.
Able to spray Single Stage, Basecoat, Clearcoat, Primer, Anti-static and Sealers.
Understand the functions of a spray gun and how to adjust for different materials that will be used
Must be able to pass Respirator Fit Test and Medical Eval. (Full face or Half face).
Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
Safely operate shop equipment such as: Paint Booth, Prep deck,
Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, maintenance databases and Color matching paint computer and Color matching camera.
Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
