We are seeking a skilled Thermal Spray Operator for our 1st shift (6am-4pm, Monday to Friday) to set up and operate thermal spray equipment according to production specifications. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate thermal spray equipment according to production specs. + Prepare surfaces and components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and positioning. + Monitor spray parameters (temperature, feed rate, pressure) and make adjustments to maintain coating quality. + Inspect finished products for adherence to thickness, adhesion, and surface finish standards. + Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on spray equipment and mechanical systems. + Document process data, production output, and quality checks accurately. + Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and resolve operational issues. + Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized work environment. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers 85% healthcare and 100% dental coverage, along with PPE prescription glasses, uniforms, and boot vouchers. While the Thermal Spray department and machine shop can be dirty, our Polyurethane and extrusion departments are cleaner. We operate on a 10-acre site with multiple buildings in a stable and rapidly growing industry. The facility is equipped with fans, garage doors, and fridges for summer comfort, and radiant heating systems for winter. Note that masks/respirators are required in the thermal department, and full beards are not permitted. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barberton, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Primary Activities/Duties: Load and unload metal parts onto and off of the paint line conveyor system. Hang, rack, and un-rack parts according to production schedules and paint line requirements. Inspect parts for cleanliness and proper preparation before painting. Assist with masking and unmasking parts as needed. Transport finished painted parts to designated areas using carts or pallet jacks. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 6-S and safety standards. Support paint line operators and other team members to ensure efficient workflow. Complete basic documentation and labeling of parts. Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the shift. Lift 25-50 pounds to waist level and up to 25 pounds above shoulder level. Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing assignments. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Basic computer skills; ability to learn and use software systems and RF scanners. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Safety Requirements: Wear safety-toed footwear Safety glasses with side shields Hearing protection Other PPE as required. Knowledge & Experience: High school diploma or GED strongly preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing, general labor, or paint line operations is a plus. Familiarity with hand tools, material handling equipment, and basic mechanical skills. Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is helpful.
