Your Impact
* Responsible for the daily inspection of coatings work on bridges to ensure contractor performance follows plans and specifications, quality assurance, quality control testing activities, and documentation
* Inspects, accepts, and/or rejects work performed as detailed by specifications or applicable codes
* Provides field inspection on surface preparation and application of protective coatings on bridge steel and surveillance during various substrate cleaning and coating activities
* Bridge / highway construction projects
* Reads and interprets drawings and specifications
* Inspect and document construction activities under clients policies and procedures
* Review contractor pay estimates
* Review contractor's schedule
* Assist in evaluate and negotiate change orders with the contractor
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma
* NICET Level II or III in related field - Highway/Bridge Construction-Bridge Painting Experience
* Minimum 9 years experience in highway and bridge related construction with at least 2 years of bridge painting experience
* Highway and Bridge construction experience on significant size projects - over $5M
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
* Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
* Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
* This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
* This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.
